Oh, Mini, just to clarify, I'm not over thirsty from the sugar -- I'm drinking tons of water to slush out my system. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the baby-concern too. She's a year old so I am able to eat more of a variety of foods now, for the first 7 months, I was on a non-gluten, non dairy meal plan as a result of her sensitivities. I love sweets but am normally sensible about them. It was our anniversary this weekend and I mail ordered salt water taffy from this candy store in the town where we had our honeymoon and we ate waaaay too much of it. If I never eat taffy again, it will be too soon....So, I'm healthy, just feel sick from the candy.

You really can't alter your body's chemistry so much using natural foods. All the sugar you ate has already been converted to glycogen. Or it has been stored as fat. The only detox you can do is a little bit of cardio or weight lifting. You'll probably get a high blood sugar reading for about a day, but unless you're a diabetic, your body will take care of it in a few hours.

NOTE TO Sassy OLD Broad:
First of all, carbs are colourless. I think you meant bleached bread and so forth. Second of all, fruits contain alot of natural sugars. So eating alot of fruit isn't going to lower your blood sugar level.

OK...lay off of the "white" carbs like pasta, break and so forth. Concentrate on fruits and veggies and lean meats and continue to drink water. You will have it out of your system in 24 hrs. or so. Keep up the no white carb diet for about a week and things will settle down quickly.

Big glass 1/2 water, 1/2 cranberry juice and a couple table spoons of lemon juice. Depending on taste preference. It helps to detox your liver so that it can better clean your body's blood supply

People drinks lots of water if they consume salt not sugar.
If they are diabetic, i.e. their glucose level is higher than normal - they drinks lots of water.

Because you are a new Mom and nursing I strongly suggest you visit your doctor and see what's going on. It may be normal, but do it as a precautionary measure for the baby's sake.

God Bless!

I dont think sugar toxifies you. It raises your blood sugar level, stresses your pancreas, and makes you store that sugar as fat, but the sugar doesnt toxify you in any way that i know of other than that.

Now the other stuff in the candy......

You have already burned up all the sugar. What you haven't burned has been turned into fat or glycogen. So nothing to worry about.

The sugar has already been dealt with by your system and you don't need to detoxify your system.

It's already metabolised out of your system.
