i would like to know if there is a web site that you do not have to pay for to find out if a sex offender lives near me.

There are many websites that will list sex offenders by local area, and almost all are free. Each state has their own, but the central one is the National Sex Offender Public Registry at www.nsopr.gov

But one that is a bit easier to use and provided a detailed satellite map is www.familywatchdog.net

With the Family Watchdog site, just type in your address and it will pull up a map showing where all the sex offenders in your area live, color coded by type of sex crime, and you can get additional info (including pics) on each offender by clicking on them on the map. I believe that site is co-sponsored by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Try going to your state web site and then look for sex offenders.
There is another, but I would have to look for it. Then I may not be able to get back to the question, but I'll give it a try.

Go to the Department of Corrections for the State you live in and it will have a sex offender locator part click on that and it will tell you

Assuming you're in the United States, try to following for starters:

I found that it missed my address by about a mile, but it was failry close. You should also try to your state's investigation agency (Georgia Bureau of Investigation, New York State Police, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, etc) and see if they have a state wide registry. You can also try the county level, often local Sheriff's Departments or Police Departments have registries for their respective areas, which should be smaller and easier to search.

yes just search sex offenders list and you can search by state and town really where ever you live just make sure not to use it to bad mouth people my friend was seeing a 17 year old and he was 19 and her parents got all mad and he got all kinds of charges and now there married with a baby her parents were so messed up

Sex offenders in our state can be found at our counties website. From there I can pinpoint my area and search various radius' that I choose.

yes, go to your county or city records it is always posted with the name, adress, crime convicted of, and usually a photo. It is now a law for that information to be made available to the public. Good luck!
