What does is mean to "Google" something?

My grandson just told me to google cucumbers and I washed his mouth out with soap, spanked him, and sent him to bed without dinner. I don't think 6 year olds should use words like "Google" to their grandfathers.

But I am curious what he was talking about?

I feel liek this may be a joke because I dont know why any grandparent would take it upon them self to use corporal punishment on thier own grandson especially if you are not even sure if what he said was bad or not....
but to answer the question I will tell you that "google" is the name of the most popular search engine on the internet. when you google something you are able to research it thoughorly.

If you're kidding around that is funny. If not you might have to apologize to your grandson. Google is a company that people use on the internet to find information on subjects they are interested in. It is a free service. So if you wanted to find information about cucumbers on the internet you would type the word cucumbers into the search box and submit the search request. About a second later you should have more information on cucumbers than you could read in your lifetime. OK so now go say you're sorry. Hope this helps.

Google is the new in thing when someone is referring to doing an internet search. You go to www.google.com on the computer and type in a question. You will receive and answer back siting many sources. Askjeeves which is now Ask.com is another one. But google has bought the term to another level.

Google is a search engine much like Yahoo search. So your grandson was actually telling your husband to look cucumbers up on Google. Much like if your children would ask you something and you would tell them to look it up in an encyclopedia or dictionary.

To 'google' something means to search for certain information from the Google search engine. The website's www.google.com. Man, I thought everybody knew what 'google' is. Yes, he says 'Oh, man!' but in a way that, if it were spelled how it sounds, it would be spelled ' oh, maaaaan'. He stretches out the vowel. It's not uncommon for people to extend vowel sounds in some phrases. For example, someone may say 'come ooooon' when trying to hurry someone up or start moving.
