If you are talking about a drug store or grocery, forget it. You can do damage to your eyes by buying colored or designer contacts over the counter.

You need a proper exam, and a proper fitting. The wrong size contact can slip, leaving you uncomfortable. There is also the possibility of scratching your cornea, which, left untreated, could lead to a corneal ulcer which would lead to a corneal transplant.

Don't do it.
