I HATE taking pills and medicines and junk like that. I have found that going to sleep makes my headache go away. But I'm not sleepy and I do not want to go to bed. Sometimes I put a wet wash cloth on my forehead but that really doesn't help, it just calms me.
What can I do. I am a very picky eater, but I like most fruits. Isn't that like something that helps.

Medicine is the one thing that works best hun, I dunno if you're going to get anything else that might cure this problem. If you're going to end up taking medicine take something that IS NOT store brand, because store brand is very cheap and does not work. If you are under 12 years of age use children's tylonol headache, but if you are over that age, you can use pretty much everything else.
Also- to break your soda a day craving type thing, eat lots of fruit. That's how I got offa soda.

Take some tylenol, and maybe take a nap. If it is really bad, like "the worst headache of your life" you should go to the hospital. I read a study recently that said a lot of minor strokes and seizures have only a very horrible head ache as a symptom. I don't want to worry you, the study was on non-pregnant people, so chances are its just your horomones. I know I've been plagued with terrible headaches for the majority of this pregnancy and I'm 32 weeks right now.

Acupressure works. Here is what I found on the net
http://www.realage.com/Health_Guides/Headache/topics/topicsContent.asp?memberId=&cbr=&topic=50
The most powerful acupressure point for headache is Gallbladder 20 (Gates of Consciousness the two points on either side of the neck vertebrae where the neck muscles attach to the skull), located immediately below the prominent ridges at the rear base of the skull on both sides of the skull in the depression between the skull and the vertical neck muscles.
Rubbing these points and the surrounding one-square-inch area steadily for three to five minutes, using firm pressure at 90 degrees to the skin is often effective by itself in decreasing headache pain.
Additionally, except in pregnant women where it is traditionally forbidden, massage of the point Large Intestine 4 (Hoku or Adjoining Valley), one of the most powerful points overall, is often suggested. This point is located in the webbed area between thumb and first finger on the upper (dorsal) surface of the left hand where the bones and attached muscles come together in a "v".
Just saw the soda and not eating part. Cut down on the soda slowly just having a partial glass and cutting down bit by bit. Not eating causes headaches. Try eating small meals and do not fast for long periods so that they do not come on. If you do deside to get medicine BC or Goody powders work best and the headache will be gone within 2 minutes.

For myself, I find that a cold gel pack that has been in the freezer helps alot, usually on the back of the neck or the top of the head. It's where the skin is thinnest. The cooling helps slow the blood flow into the brain and may help alleviate the pain. Sometimes, I like to take a cool shower and let the water pound on my head. But only sometimes. GL hon and stay away from caffeine, chocolate and foods or alcohol with red dyes.

Go to a neurologist and identify what type of headache you are having. Keep a daily journal of your diet, and the weather and any allergens you may have been exposed to. I know its a lot to do, but it could save you from dreadful pain in the future.

Many moons ago, we were at my in-laws and I got the worst headache of my life. My mother in law realized the problem and gave a large cup of regular coffee. Unbeknown to me, I had been drinking decaf. I started weaning myself off caffeine. Your colas have caffeine, wean yourself off them but as in other narcotics, go slowly.
