You make it sound like everyone that has a religion would go out and kill people. That's bologna. Most religions are taught not to kill because it is the second greatest sin. There are the 10 commandments, one is ..........(DRUM ROLL) THOU SHALT NOT KILL.
Someone here has a great point. People kill whether they have a religion or whether they don't. So is it okay to point fingers and say if you don't have a religion you are a murderer?

There are equally if not more killings done by non religious people. People kill people... guns dont, religion doesnt, money doesnt. The man in my city who killed his wife, 3 kids and his mother in law was not a religious person. Hitler was not religious... does this mean all non religious are killers? Does it mean not having a religion makes people psycho?

That's disingenuous question, it presumes all religions sanction killing, which many don't. Mine only sanction killing under very specific conditions.
As for you side note, again you make an erroneous assumption and effectively you'd a lot more murders under strictly atheism as human life would have no real value.

It does seem that allot of the killings and wars are because of religion, however, I doubt that we will ever see a day when there is no religion. Even if there wasn't religion, people would just fight over other things like resources, land, treasure, etc.

Tommy its not religions fault. Religions do not promote wars and killings. People use the religion to justify their atrocities wars and killings.

It feels a bit like when kids are given toys that can hurt them. And you can hear them:

why are you saying athiests have no morals? just because they dont think there will be consiquinces when they die dosnt mean they act wild and immoral lives. they have morals and are kind just to be kind and be a good citizen. then again im not an athiest so i wouldnt know right? i dont see why we cant put aside our religious differences and be kind to absolutly every one regardless of religion race color or sex.

better to kill for a godly reason then murder for any reason
godly reason being a cop stopping some perve abusing a child or murdering her.
heathen reason the perve who kidnaps a child to rape and murder
