Absolutely! With the hormone crash and adjustment that goes along with having a new baby, the last thing a woman needs to be concerned about is losing weight, only staying a healthy mom.

I have a 10 week old, and luckily I look almost as good as b4 pregnancy. I put on 11kgs, about 24lbs, left the hospital with 4kgs about 9lbs 'excess', and now have 2kgs, (4lbs)left to get to pre-pregnancy shape. I breastfed, still do but not as much and have started doing sit ups. Nothing to do with figure obsession, just carrying on with what I did b4 pregnancy. However, I don't think women should obsess with their weight, but should be aware of health implications should the weight stay on, especially if it is a lot of weight gain. My moto is: "9 months to put on, 9 months to lose". Caring for the baby is my priority.

I agree with ya, My little boy is nearly 2, I didnt really have time to even think about my weight as I was too busy looking after my son. Now that he is two and can go to playgroup I can actually start thinking about loosing some weight. But Women who have just had babies should not worry about there weight and enjoy bringing up their child

My baby boy is 5 months old and I have lost all my baby weight (3st) and an extra1st9lb more, but that hasn't stopped me enjoying being a mum or looking after my baby boy. In fact i am doing it for him, I don't want him to be picked on in school because he has a fat mummy. I have more energy now have have lost weight, so surely it is for the better that I carry on? I don't go to the gym for exercises, I take him for a walk to the park. How can I encourage my son to be a healthy eater later on when I am over weight?

I agree. I gained 70 pounds with my son. When I breastfed I lost it all...after nursing I gained some back, but I don't think it's healthy to loose weight so fast after giving birth. Your body is going through so many changes! And if your child is like mine...you don't have time for yoga..plus I run around with him!

I completely agree. I gained 45 lbs when I was pregnant with my daughter and it took me about 8-9 months to get all the weight off. I wasn't really concerned with the weight but I started to walk my daughter in her stroller and the weight came off naturally.

Since I had my daughter I am less worried about my figure as I used to be - she's a year old now and there are still some bits I'm not happy with but I've got a beautiful little girl so I don't mind! :)

yes but if mothers want to get back in to shape then they can.... it doesn't take time away from their baby.... and some mothers want to feel like their needed and like their still sexy so if they want to know how to lose weight then they can don't knock the 4 it at least their trying to be healthy.... so that mother hood 4 them can last longer and better and be more funner going to parks and doing those bonding moments with their new family member....
