I never did, but for the young lady who heard from experts that it isn't harmful, I would be interested in researching that source.

I did but I cut back a lot. I went from smoking a pack and a half a day to about 5-6 cigarettes a day. My doctor actually recommended this instead of quitting cold turkey. apparently the stress of quitting cold turkey can be more harmful than smoking a few cigarettes. Both my children were born happy and healthy. My oldest child weighed 6 lbs 9.5 oz and my youngest weighed 7 lbs 2.5 ounces. The strange thing is that I was pregnant once before getting pregnant with either of my children. I quit smoking as soon as I found out. I miscarried at 6 weeks.

With my first son, I cut back from 1 pack a day to 4 or 5 a day. He was a week late, weighed 8 lb. 4 oz. and was (still is) healthy as a horse.

With my second son, I was smoking about a half pack a day, and he was two weeks early, 8 lb. 11 oz. and also very healthy.

I'm fortunate, but many women aren't.

If you mean the whole time - no way. But at first...yes. Quit within a couple of weeks, though. Couldn't handle the guilt of the thought that something might be wrong with the baby that I could have caused by smoking.

i did with my children. i cut down lots by the time my kids were born but i found i very difficult to quit. i was told that smoking will dramatically decrease your childs birth weight but my boys were both 10lbs plus. also told that they may have problems as they grew and they never did. i dont recomend smoking to anyone but if u do then dont stress to much about not quitting completely while pregnant, i didnt and my children r perfectly fine.

I smoked a couple cigarettes a day when I was pregnant. My doctor told me that quitting cold turkey could possibly lead to miscarriage.

I didn't...and I had healthy children....over 7 1/2 pounds each.
My sister did and she had 3 children under 6 pounds...don't do it..you should be able to deal w/ it for the 9 months..it is a nasty habit.
