i have tooken her to the vet and have gotten medication. i have been feeding the res of the puppies NUTRO. what can i feed the female to gain some fat and weight on here . she is skin and bones. no ignorant answers please. to many of those. it shows who the ignorant people are!

Your 6 week old puppy should be fed puppy formula if she cannot nurse.

As long as the puppies are still nursing it takes alot out of the *****. They often look awful after whelping. They should be starting to be weaned about now.
Feed her a high protein food, not sure which Nutro you are feeding, but there are better choices for the same price. After my bitches whelp, I make a beef/chicken/egg mixture and mix it with her food once a day and then give her a dollop of yogurt or cottage cheese with her other meal.

I have had some luck feeding dogs vitamins basically a good quality multi vitamine that you would take of a liquid version as you would give a child. Then any good quality dog food that is made for working dogs should put some weight on your dog. The vitamins should only be used temporarily to increase appetite and when the dog is eating normally feed her the same food you prefer for your other dogs.

Continue feeding her what you have been but offer it to her as she pleases (unless she's eating WAY too much in one day). You need to be careful you don't over-feed her or offer too fatty of a food. If she gains weight too fast you run the risk of her getting over-weight, causing upset stomach and/or irretable/twisted bowel syndrom.
