It seems to in many cases. But you will have to apply it at least daily for months until all the nail has grown out and has been cut away. Otherwise the older nail will reinfect the newer nail at the base of the fingers.
Vicks has a number of of plant derived chemicals that are antifungal. for example menthol will kill fungi. It also has a group of anti fungal chemicals called terpenoids, and essential oils, and poly aromatic hydrocarbons, etc.. There are other probably many other anti fungal chemicals, in the product, that work too.
Regards, and be consistent treating them.
Dan.

Never heard of Vicks doing that. I do know that Vivks is a penetrating heat and can also be used for muscle spasms.
But I do know that Peroxide will kill the nail fungus because I had it on my toes and in about three months time from soaking the nails nightly I got rid of the fungus I had on my toenails that way. Took three months because thats how long it takes the nails to grow out again. Good Luck!

Wikipedia says that it "is used" for treating toenail fungus. Whether that means it works or not......

But they were referring to Vaseline, not the Vaporub variety. Both are petrolatum based.
