I can understand it can be hurtful, but it really is not meant that way. We inflict pain on our brothers physically and more emotionally for sisters (in most cases). Its our method for a) establishing territory ... b) competing ... c) just rough-housing.
Just part of Sibling Rivalry & such. Not meant to be "truly" hurtful but with brothers you can get into wresting and fighting matches over. That's how we get agression out. So ... at least he is being respectful and not plowing into you.

There is and always will be a thing called "sibling rivelry". The idea of it is to make your sibling feel awful about themselves. My sister did it to me by telling me I was a fat lazy horrible kid. In turn I told her she was a big, drug using slut. Thats just the way brothers and sisters are. But......I bet when the chips are down, your brother would do just about anything for you and will always have your back covered. I did it for my sister a lot.
There were times when she would call me at 3am needing just to talk about a problem she was having. I would always listen to her. Just like she would always listen to me. Hope that helps.

My brother did me the same way, They are just trying to protect you from the outside world. I wish my brother was still here. He passed away unexpectedly Jan.2,2005. I really think the both brothers and sisters should watch out for the name calling that they do to each other cause they really don't understand the impact this could cause on their sibling if their self esteem is low to began with.

That's part of a sibling's job... To make fun of your brother or sister. You're supposed to do it right back.
And don't worry, things will get better around about high school... You'll be best friends with your brothers/sisters from then on.
But you should still make fun of them every once in awhile, just to keep up appearances ;)

For the same reason husbands call their wives "the old bag." They don't want anyone to know how pretty they really are. Whether they realize it consciously or not, it is a sign of affection.

it's a parenting thing - the kids are getting ROTTEN parental training that is encouraging or allowing hateful relations to develope between them.
loving parenting would have the kids liking one another and loyal to each other. loving parenting would have all of you enjoying and befriending each other and much, much more loving stuff.
i just hate reading about all the ROTTEN PARENTING in these posts that put kids at each others throats instead of sharing love and happiness.
ROTTEN PARENTING SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
