You don't need to do anything.
Atheism requires nothing on your part.
If you wanted to though, you could enter vicious religious debates.

There is no "way to convert". If you don't believe in a god...any god...you're already an atheist. If you believe in something, but aren't sure what, your agnostic.
If you need a more defined answer, use the brain you were born with, and do some research. You'll see that most things in the "holy books" tend to not stand up to intellectual scrutiny.
Oh, and realize that just because you don't agree with the followers of an organized religion, doesn't mean you're being mean. Alot of times, things are explained logically and that can come across as a bit "cold". Doesn't mean that you're being mean about it.

Atheism is not a religion it's a belief. If you do not believe in the exsistance of God or gods then you are an athiest.

Don;t go there buddy, but instead, take one small step of faith and trust in God, by asking Him to forgive you all your wrong doing, and turn away from everything you know is wrong. As Him into your life, to be Your Saviour, and you know what? - you will KNOW that He exists.

you don't convert. you just learn to let go of all of the religious nonsense that you've been taught. it's a process and a journey, not some form you fill out.

You go down to the local atheism building..oops wait they don't have one..Oh go to the hospitals they've built..ooopsss they didn't do that either..OH..go to one of the atheist Universities..ooopss they have done that either..I guess just be mean and go to any Christian Chat..or yahoo answers and say ugly mean things..YEP...that's what's it's about..and don't forget to be angry and sour
