It is tough to lose a pet especially one that you had for 8 years
There is a new Kitty waiting for you at the Humane Society, he told me to tell you to come and get him right away, he doesn't like being locked up. .

I know exactly the pain you're feeling. My Jack Russell was hit by a car in April. She was 7 years old and just like a daughter to me. The pain is undescribable and every day that passed I wondered, when will the pain end? Have you read the poem, The Rainbow Bridge? It's all over the internet if you search. That helped me a lot. 2 months after Annie was killed, we got another puppy and she has really filled a void in our lives, but not taken the place of Annie. I think of her every day and I look at her picture every day. I still can't believe she's gone. One thing's for sure, the pain will lessen and you will feel better. It takes a few weeks, but it starts to lessen and you get stronger. All I can tell you is, I'm sorry and I've been there.

I understand what you are going through because, just last month my mother's house burnt down and again I lost another cat in the fire and I feel realy bad I wish I ran through the house and got the cat because, I have memory's of my cat and I just cant get over it I cant stand the cat being dead it's just not the same without the cat I would bring the cat every where I went I loved that cat even though it woke me up at 3 am to feed it If I could I would take my cat back and give up my life for the cat but, that's just not the way life works.

You poor thing; I am so sorry. I can imagine how you must feel. I came home one day to find firetrucks blocking part of the road where I lived and all I could think about was my babies inside my apartment. There was smoke everywhere and I didn't know if they were okay or not. I just felt sick.

Thank God, they were okay, but really, I can feel your pain b/c I think of such things happening all the time. When you feel ready to open up your heart again, think of a kitty in a shelter who is meowing and needs your love, too, b/c you can honor your kitty by helping another one. There are so many out there that need love. I know that won't replace your other kitty, but it can help you and a new kitty also who may be waiting for someone just like you.

You are a good person to love animals as you do. *Hugs.* God bless you.

It's horrible when you lose a pet whether it be from illness, old age or being allowed to get hit by a car. Why was the cat outside anyway? Indoor cats live an average of 15 years, outside cats only 5 years - being an outside cat - you had three extra years over the average. I am truly sorry for your loss, but the next kiddie should be strictly inside - the chances of it living a longer life will be greater.

I have had two cats, One died from an anurism, and the other renal failure. I Know that it hurts, and you think that you will not be able to replace him, and you are right, you can't replace him, but You can remember him, through pictures and remember the times you had together. Wait a few weeks and just go look at another Kitten, I swear you will feel better, believe me it takes your mind off the pain, and you can start over with a new little one. You are NOT replacing the old one, you are moving forward. Trust me The pain will go away.

I feel for you so much!! Pets are a part of our family or sometimes a family in themselves!! But to look at the positives if you got another cat from a shelter (one that needs some love and a home) you would be doing a great thing in the scheme of things and helping another little cat. You will love them also and they will love you as you sound like a very caring person!! I worked in the animal welfare field and used to get attached to so many animals but what got me through is I used to think well I am giving these animals love and happiness that they wouldnt otherwise have and making thier lives that little more happier.
I hope that you do get to love another animal soon & they get to love you also!!!!! Good Luck!!

I know how you feel. I am sorry you had to go through all of that. My cat died last year and it still feels like it was that day. He had fluid in his lungs and he kept on panicking. The doctors told me they couldnt do anything because no matter what they did he could die.
I didnt want to take him home and watch him struggle till his last breath. I put him down and buried him. It felt like my heart ripped out. I didnt want to replace him because he was my baby. I had him for 12 years. I eventually got two more cats but he will still be my baby.
Dont worry, the pain and the heaviness of it will lessen but dont forget him. Remind yourself of all the happy memories. He is a better place where nothing can touch him.

I'm so sorry to hear about your baby. Like the old saying goes "Time heals all wounds". I know you don't believe it right now, but in time you WILL feel better. You will always have a special place in your heart for your baby, but life will not seem as hard. You have many good memories to keep you going. Think of all the cute things your baby did. That will keep you smiling. Hopefully, in time, you'll be ready for another animal. There are lots of animals out there that haven't been as fortunate as your baby, growing up in a loving home, he had a good life. I'm sure you will be able to love again, they need you.

I'm so sorry! If you don't have pets, you'll never understand that losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. I have a13-year-old cat that I had to bottle-feed as a baby. I'm dreading the day he passes away. Please don't be afraid to get another kitten. He will never take the place of your "baby", but he'll be a whole new friend. Don't take this the wrong way, but don't let your new cat go outside. My cat has never been outside his whole life, except to go to the vet, and I expect him to be around for quite a while. It's a fact that inside cats live twice as long as cats who go outside and they're just as happy. Best wishes.

I am so sorry to hear of ur loss. My cat means the world to me also. Your right, no other cat can replace him. But his there in ur heart forever now. In time u can get another kitty. Not to replace him but to gain the same kind of companionship. Again im terribly sorry for ur loss and wish u all the best. In time the hurting will stop i promise. You may be heart-broken for a while but ull be alright hun. My auntie lost her cat the same way last yr. It was hurtful for her and the rest of the family too, but they pulled thru so i know u can too. Best wishes and take care.
