Why people can't accept that Christianity has maintained the society in many parts of the world in order and with morals. What would be the world without Christianity? Not everyone are Christians, but thank God there are many left because if not this would be lost.

Think about it many people rebel against God because they feel judged by the Christians. Christian don't let them do some things we consider wrong like, do drugs, have orgies, sex before marriage, relationships of the same sex, stealing, adultery, murder, pornography, abuse etc. They want to do all these things and have some fun so they say "**** Christianity".

I know many would say no, and even if they are not believers they have morals but who are they imitating? What can they define as morality if they don't have a base or religion to give this facts? Try to have the world without Christianity and imagine people trying to distinguish whats right from wrong?I think the world we be worst than it already is.

jayne_galaxy I agree with you completely even though romans were very civilized they had many problems of their own because of their fierce nature. They were in war all the time because all they though about was power. Plus they believed in many gods and I don't know if this was only a Greek thing, but they had many pagans festivities. Geeks had tons of orgies for the god of wine I forgot his name, but isn't this sinful behavior that is problematic later on in life? Roman civilization didn't last long, why aren't they still here, and the Greeks. Jews are the only people who have being able to survive during the years and their believes are similar to ours.

I knew people were going to bring the "war" topic. Who are in war right now? The Christians? No the Jews. I am not talking about the Jews. Countries that are next to other countries with different believes and cultures are going to have problems. And yes many people died during those Medieval times and Saint Inquisition times but that was mostly about politics not God, and I never agreed with it. It was brutal. Now we have a modern type of Christianity that is against of war to solve problems.

And yes any other type of religion who has inner peace, peace with the people who surrounds us, meditation, love, etcs is going to be beneficial for many people. Even some people consider Yoga as a religion because it brings them inner peace. Anything can bring you inner peace if their nucleus of their believes is peace and meditation.

"The Inquisition didn't do much to help society, and it was lead by a Christian church."

No, by Catholic churchs, at those time people were catholic not Christian. You are messing it up. Get educated.

"There are terrorists in every religion".
You are joking right? Please is there any terrorism involved in my country? Maybe your Bush is a terrorist and America is having so many dissatisfactions with Christianity because all they care about is power. Why in Latinamerica people have been able to conserve their faith more than you people? Because whether there is poverty there is more faith. You people lose their faith because you are a bunch of spoiled brats who have it all, and feel you don't need God anymore. Enough Said. My Christianity in my country is fine, because we don't have your problems that are created by the greed of men.

"Sorry, I think your wrong. Christianity have made people robot, who can't think for themselves, all solutions to all problem is : pray."

Am I a robot? No. I can get educated on any topic and decide what I want to believe. Praying is not the only solution to our problems. Actions are also effective. Helping others is also effective. Educating others is also effective. Why do you think I can't think for myself? Because I can't accept your atheistics point of views when I know that by beliving in them I am not going to gain nothing? I am going to be a empty person inside with no guidence?

Why atheistic people here are more disrespectful thatn christians? Do they have any morality to behave that way? Any spiritual guidence? No.

NEEEEEEXT.

People are not educated on this. Most people think that by accepting what you are saying means they all the sudden believe in god when it is not true. People can respect gods teachings and still maintain their faith. I believe we wouldn't have a society and have gotten so far without religion. I personally do not know what to believe, but I still respect what his teachings stand for and I can see the good they do therefore I would never push any of my beliefs on a Christian because "To each his own." I say. If everyone would just respect each other and the law, the world would be such a good place to live. You asked a great question and I doubt anyone on this site including me will give you the answer you seek.

Christianity has definitely molded our society's morals and values. That's why things like the Burning Times and the Holocaust happened. It's also why gays are being denied their constitutional rights that they are supposed to be entitled to.

Before Christianity, there was Paganism, and those people had values and morals, so I don't think one has to be Christian to be a good person. They can have those morals without imitating anyone, but simply by using their hearts, and their brains. Usually, one defines morality not by religion, but by what creates positive change, as opposed to destruction. You also do not need to be a Christian to recognize positive change.

Try to have a world without Christianity and you will see less war and less killing. Christianity says it's wrong to kill, but more people are killed in the name of God than for any other reason. I never understood that at all.

Blessed be.

Christianity did not do those things. You have no proof whatsoever that Christianity has saved the world with morality.

I know more Christians with questionable morals than any other group of people. Take a look at surveys of prisoners in the US prison system... only 0.091% are atheist... the rest are various forms of God-believers.

Look at how many of your religious leaders have fallen in all of the various denominations.

People with bad morals come in all different shapes, sizes and religious affiliations. And what about other countries that are not primarily Christian... they have lower crime rates and adultery rates than the primarily-Christian United States.

Bad argument from the start. Next.

Yes I agree with you, but there are morally upright people too, who are not Christians. However, people watch us as Christian, and although some might put us down, they know that the ways of God are good. Imagine how different the world would be, if people lived out the ten commandments, not to say what it would be like if everyone was born again by God's Spirit.

Umm... there was social order before Christianity took over the world. Don't get me wrong, I am a Christian, but we were not the first and only people to have social order. The Jews before us had many social, religious and punative laws. So did the Romans. The Egyptians before them, and a myriad of other cultures. People are social creatures and without set belief systems, will still behave within certain moral bounds.

The Inquisition didn't do much to help society, and it was lead by a Christian church.

Christians, as well as other religions, have had both and bad influences. To say that one religion is better or has better values is the same as saying one TV show, or one movie, or one song has better influence on society than others.

It's the whole of all experiences that determines what works best. No one religion can claim superiority to any other.

I hate to say this, but maybe the people you are talking about feel judged by Christians because of statements like yours. You are judging all other religions because they don't believe what you do.

Sorry, I think your wrong. Christianity have made people robot, who can't think for themselves, all solutions to all problem is : pray. If your sick, thatMs because God want it. If you are healthy you must pray to say thanks. I don't say that everything about God is wrong. I understand like you that love is good and stuff and eveything, but I deeply think that the Holy Bible have been re-edited by someone who had interest to do so. Every unthinkable horror have been commited in the name of God. The Inquisition, the Great Book Burns, they took all the valuable knowledge out of the circulation, to keep it for themselves. That was to kill everyone who wasn't obey the Law of God, or anything that dont pleased to the Inquisitor, to make sure no rebelion was to come, to kill hope. The Pope havent condamned the Holocost until the very last moment Hitler was to lose. You have so much to learn.
Do you know what is a Jesuit, it's a spy, assasin for the Pope's sake. They duty was to spread all over the world and take possesion of all lands, in the name of the Pope. To inflict the christ, to everyone who dont wanted it. Fortunately, Pope lost some of his power. It's ok if you dont trust me, but since ancient Egypt, Horus, was they homonyme of Jesus, then they was the fish-god of Babylone, then Jesus. Humanity swallow the same damn story of the son of god who came on Earth to die for our sins. And you are a sheeeep, like all human's, and you must obey priests who are God Avatars, and if you are a good damn stupid sheep all you life you got a Illusionary reward beyond the grave.

Conclusion :
1. God is supposed to have made you at his image, so there's no way in earth he ask you not to think.
2. You are not a damn sheep.
3. I don't say praying is totally bad, we all need some Mind Sanctuary, and deep spiritual life, but just dont think that praying is the solution. Acting and understanding is.
4. There is no Magic or miracles but non-understood science.
5. Finally, if we compare with other's religions, Christianianity is not that Moral...Islam and Jews holy text, include a statement that you have to think for yourself, and question the deep Integrity of the Holy text, preventing a spiritual Dead end like Christianity seem to fall.

I swear i dont want to buly your ideas but those are my deep thought about it...

Of course we must accept that christianity has influenced in a big way the morality and laws of our country.
That much is a fact.
HOwever, the rest of your rant just shows that you need to pull your head out of your sand pile.

To assume that good non-christians need to imitate anyone is narrow minded and insulting.
as far as distinguishing right from wrong, if you really needed a religion to do that, chose any one you like, there are over 4500, and they all engage in the right versus wrong thing.
Stop parroting this tired claptrap and go think one thought for yourself.
If it doesn't hurt, try again tomorrow.
and again the next day. If you can do this for one week straight without asking god for guidance, there is hope. If not, then flop back into your comfortable, if well-worn rut, and by all means, praise god as often as possible, lest he roast you in hell.

Technically speaking, the laws you refer to were given to the nation of Isreal (a/k/a the Jews). Christianity originated with the Jewish faith (obviously since Jesus was a Jew). Unfortunately for them, when the Messiah they had been waiting for showed up, they didn't acknowledge him as such. Christ put into place "the law of the Christ" which basically states that there are two laws - love God with your whole heart, soul and mind; and love your neighbor as yourself. He stated that all of the other laws hung on these two, which is true...if you love God and your neighbor you wouldn't commit any of the things forbidden by the laws given to Moses. But as for your question, my opinion would have to be that you're right regarding the fact that without those laws the world would be worse than it is.

Many religions that came before Christianity like Hinduism and Buddhism and Judaism have laws that are found in Christianity. Just stated differently. Christianity is not the only so-called clean religion in the world. It is overflowing with the blood of innocent people who were killed for not bowing down to Christ and you are talking about morals.
