He is a cat. That's what cats do. Training one is next to near impossible. But you could try the water bottle it might come closer to working than anything else.

I know how. My brother is a feline cat expert. ; )
Here are some tips.
1. Buy a plant sprayer and fill it with clean water.
*If you have a plant sprayer; and there is water in there, pour it out and clean it thoroughly with soap and hot water. Then rinse.*
~Notice~
DO NOT USE A CLEANING SPRAY; Such as Windex, Oxy, e.t.c.
EVEN IF YOU CLEAN IT A MILLION TIMES!!! IT STILL HAS CHEMICALS THAT WILL HARM THE KITTY! EVEN IF IT WAS EMPTY.
Okay, when you see him about to attack you, give him a FIRM NO. If he doesn't listen spray him with the sprayer. Even if he continues, spray him everytime. If he goes on with it tell him he is being a bad kitty. If he ignores it, pick him up with gloves or something *so he won't scratch, bite,or hurt you* and put him in a plain small closet. (such as a clothes closet) That way, he won't touch anything special or get himself harmed. (remove anything from the closet that may cause injury to kitty. Leave him in there for about 45 seconds or 30. Then take him out and make him behave and play right.
Use the sprayer at times when he bites (use it 3 times), scratch ( use it 1 time), and attack. (keep him away)
Do this everytime he is scratching and biting and attacking... Eventually he will stop and that will be the time where you can play with him.
Also, ignore him when he scratch or bite. Even if he thinks it is fun, ignore so that he will know that you do not like it when he does that and in the future he may stop. (if you play with him, he will think that you are praising that behavior.)
But not always he will think it is a game. He may be in teething. So get him something that can let him bit or scratch. Like a scratch-post and a chewy toy.
You can buys these items at your local petco.

If it is what everybody's saying about teething, give him something else to bite on. I got a 9-week old kitten and I just noticed when I read the question that he's biting on various things that he plays with a lot. Hope that helps.

It sounds like he's lost his baby teeth! Scratching and attacking well that's what they do. What you have to do is in the firmest voice you can find tell him no. Also incorporating some toys always helps. Like scratching posts Pet smart actually has these little mice that my cat loves. It's hard but it's normal for them to do that.

in most cases kittens and cats will do as they do.
you may be able to watch him and see the provocation for the meaness.
as a kitten i can almost guarantee that this is his mode of play.
kittens don't know what being mean is. about the only action a cat will commit in meanness or anger is through self protection or protection of their young.
some adult cats are the exception to this rule by becoming jealous and territorial, but true meanness that causes harm to people or other animals most often comes from fear.
dogs often bring this trait out in cats. but in a household where this is the only animal, you need to teach him how to play differently.

A kitten is hard to discipline. You can use water to spritz when he get wild but I usually calmly talk to the kitten and use soft slow rubs down it's back. When you fingers in a claw shape and vigorously rub the kitty he thinks you want to play and doesn't know not to use his claws. When he uses his claws then stop rubbing him. He will eventually learn that if he uses his claws that the rubbing will stop.It may take some time....Be consistent. He will have some relapses but be patient.

Hes just playing. You have to tell them when it hurts or else how are they gonna know. Teach your pets the rules of the house while they are young that way their will be no excuses for any mishaps. My cats understand me better than some humans
Don't just give them the text book........give em worksheets everyday and give them verbal drills and pop quizes til they get it.
If the kitten is mean to you ....maybe you are not so nice yourself.
Pets have feelings too.

He is just playing. If he bites you, tap him on the nose and say "NO,NO" When he gets older he will settle down. I know I had a crazy Kitten, and still do. Trust me!

Don't play rough with him, he thinks rough play is Ok. A spray bottle is good if he does something you don't like, give him a LITTLE spray as soon as he does it, its harmless negative reinforcement. As for biting, its a little mean but put a little tabasco sauce on your hand, one bite and he ought to learn.
