depends on the size of the bottle ( or box) and the size of the glass. 3-4 glasses per bottle , 2-3 drinks per person, 4-6 bottles

This question can be tricky, even if you know your friends’ preferences fairly well! The best answer is to estimate on the high side. People who enjoy wine will commonly drink 1-2 glasses prior to dinner, and another 1-2 glasses with dinner. So that person will drink the better part of a bottle him/herself.

The rule of thumb is FIVE glasses per bottle (but this does depend on the size of your wine glasses). Standard wine glasses hold about a 4- to 6-ounce serving.

Figure 40 drinks at 5 drinks a bottle - 8 bottles
Better to have too many than not enough!

One bottle of wine equals 4 1/2 glasses of wine. Take that number and assume that all ten of your guests will have 2 glasses in the first hour and one an hour after the first hour. Get both a Red and a White wine. However, if you know your friends preferences, get what they will drink the most of. Also, most wine stores will take back any bottles you never opened and give you a refund. So keep that in mind!!

U get 4 glasses per bottle, assume that each person is going to drink 3 glasses. U need 30 glasses worth, so about 8 to 10 bottles. U can overbuy and ask the wine/liquor store if they will trade leftovers out for something else. Most stores shouldn't have a problem with that, they just can't refund.

Each bottle usually has 3 servings, unless you are buying the econo-bottle. Most would drink maybe 3 glasses each...do the math...3 glasses per person, 10 people, 10 bottles....buy extra just in case you have a wine junkie!!!

Depends on the number of wine drinkers there are in the party. The different kinds of wines served and the knowledge of good wine should be all considered.

What kind of party? A dinner party? A hang out party? How long of a party?

Figure at least 3 glasses of wine per person, if your friends drink, or one glass per hour of the party. So, I'd buy at least 6 bottles. At least.
