You don't need a mediator, just get on your knees and pray.

In every branch of society and that includes the Church there are humans with failings. The vast majority of priests (99.99%)and those with positions of trust in the church are absolutely trustworthy. What is certain when a priest or minister does fail it makes the headllines and every other case for the last fifty years is again brought up and publicised
It is of course right that such cases should be exposed and there is no excuse for having a young life irreevocably damaged by such a person. i believe the Church (certainly in the UK) has become aware of possibilities and now deals with such cases both publically and firmly.
Peodophiles are very cunning and worm there way into positions of trust with families and children. Most abuse of children takes place within the family itself (including cousins, uncles, aunts, step relatives etc) however such individuals also become teachers , Youth and Scout leaders, private tutors, etc. Some even move around the country changing their names etc.
Now most responsinle organisations including the Church require anyone who has anything to do wih children to undertake a Criminal Records bureau check to ensure there is no history of abuse or problems involving young people.
Yes, we live in a sinful world, but that is not God's way and it is not the Church's way. We still need the Church to stand up against the evils of the world.

My Friend, you don't have to go to church to worship God. If you know the scriptures you should note that even tho Christ went into the temples to teach the people, he also did a lot of preaching outside of the temple. What building could possibly hold the true essence of God?
Worship God in the truest sense and make him real and remember that it was God who also warned his people about the wolves dressed in sheep's clothing and don't forget that the devil can also appear as an angel of light. So the only defense against such evil is to know the scripture and worship God where you can trust that you or your children are not being abused in anyway and that is at home.
The spirit told me this long ago when I was desperately searching for God after I left the church that I was born and raised in...... The spirit told me that....
The distance between mankind and God can only be measured by the depth of ones heart.
Hold on to God and let go of everything else and God will help you. I know this because he has helped me.
I pray that God almighty sends you peace through his comforter.

Don't blame God for the evil of man. Pray to God when you feel the need to prey, and where you want to pray. Faith is not a build or an organization, it is the foundation of your beliefs. As long as you keep God in your heart, no earthly evil can touch it or ruin it. I am a Catholic, and the church could crumble into dust, but my faith in God will not be shaken. I have never felt the comfort of a fulfilling relationship with God while I was in church. When I am alone, I feel God around me, and it gives me comfort. No, man can wash that away with the cold water of sin.

First, you must remember that church is not a museum for saints, it's a hospital for sinners. At least if they are going to church there is hope that they will follow God's commandments and change their evil ways. We are all sinners. The only sinless being to ever walk the earth is Jesus Christ. It is appalling that the church has covered up for the pedophiles in their midst. It doesn't mean that all churches have pedophiles for priests or ministers. These are the rotten apples. Perhaps God's plan for you is for you to shine His light in the church, to help these people turn from their sinful ways. Listen for His still, small voice to lead you in the path He has chosen for you. God bless!

As long as you live a good life and don't harm others there is no need to go to church. If you believe in God then you know he will hear your prayers no matter where you are. The reason for church was for those that may sway ( one log alone will not last a few will make a fire burn longer), rubbish, I am one log and I haven't burned out of goodness yet, even though I say it myself. You pray on your own and live your life in a good way, just remember to pray for those in church.

Here's the catch, we are all hypocrites. We are all sinners. Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" If you have a problem with the leaders of one church, LEAVE that church and find a better one. Do not stop going to church. What happens when you take a piece of wood out of the fire? It dwindles down and eventually, it loses its flame. That's what happens with Christians who don't go to church, their faith dwindles.

Church is a building not God. Be true to yourself and read the Bible, learning from the Master Himself and let the others go and do what they think that they have to in order to get where they want to be.
I rarely visit a Church but every so often feel the urge to go. But my God is right here with me all the time, teaching and leading me in the way He wishes for me to go.

Jesus Christ founded one church and intends it to be the ordinary means for all to come to know him, and to love him, and to obtain the necessary grace and guidance to successfully do so.
The church is full of sinners, which God certainly expected. It's your own expectations and conclusions that are misguided.
No matter what you do, no matter where you go, you're not going to be able to avoid sinners and hypocrites, mainly because you, like everyone else, are also a sinner, and if, as a sinner, you profess to truly love God, you are also a hypocrite.
John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.
God founded his church for sinners. That's where you (and I) belong. Only when we get together to give thanksgiving and proper worship to God, do we stand a chance of achieving our true potential as Christians, and as children of God.
Do anything else and you're like a stray lamb in wolf territory. The devil will pick you off and devour you, before you even know what's happened.
As for all religions being similar, only Christianity enjoys the favor of the living God, who loves us, sacrificed his son for us, and promises eternal life with him in heaven.
Pray to God for faith and guidance. Go back to church and get fully involved in the faith life of your community. You'll soon be able to pick out the "wheat" from the "tares".
There is no substitute for full and active participation in the work and the unceasing worship of God's church.
You truly have no other, or better place to go.
Joh 6:66 After this, many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him.
Joh 6:67 Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away?
Joh 6:68 And Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go?
Thou hast the words of eternal life.
May God Bless you!

Step One: Realize that everyone is a sinner. We've all screwed up; that's why we (Christians) have come to God in the first place (for forgiveness).
Step Two: Ask God for forgiveness for your own sin, trusting in Jesus and His payment He made for you on the cross.
Step Three: Work side by side with those who are recovering pedophiles and extreme sinners to help them (by God's grace) to overcome the residual effects of their sin.
Step Four: Be forgiving of others, knowing that you've fallen and will still fall from time to time. Being a Christian doesn't mean being perfect. It means being forgiven and trying your best with God's (and the church's) help to recuperate from your sinful condition.

Church, church, church, church. I am sick and tired of hearing church. Church has *nothing* to do with God. It is impossible to know what is true and/or real in this spacetime continuum. I find that most religions only confuse my faith. All faiths contradict each other. I say find what makes sense to you and go with that. You sound like you might like to explore the Unitarians. They believe in everything and nothing.
