Go to a new doctor, now.

I've had strep and mono, neither are fun.

White spots are common for both of those, strep is more commonly known for white spots.

Get tested for strep again.

And for the record, mono is like the chicken pocks, you get it once and your body builds up an immunity to it and normally you don't get it again because the next time it shows up in your body, you body knows how to fight it without you even showing symptoms. UNLESS you're like me and have a very unstable immune system. Unfortunately my body can not always take apart the sickness I have to find out how to kill it quicker next time.

I've had mono two times in three years, and it's not fun. But YOU CAN GET IT TWICE!

It could be sour food stuck on your tonsils. Or it might be a viral thing that will have to run it's course and go away on it's own. Good luck. Glad to hear that you don't have strep

Perhaps you have an infection or bacteria. If you went to the doctor and he said he didn't know what it was, then you probably need to consult with a specialist. I would need to know if it hurts or if the spots are just there and don't cause you any problems. If they don't than you probably aren't in any need of health care.

Well, not to worry. It probably won't last forever. But if you ever need to know, you can always gargle with Mono-stat 7, just to make sure it isn't a viral thing.

are they on/in your tonsils? Can you squish them out? If so, they are tonsiloliths or something like that.
