wine preferenance depends on taste...
try any of the following, Reisling, Gewerztraminer, Moscato, or any Icewine (expensive, highly respected)

I have been drinking wine for 9 years. I LOVE Moscato. Another favorite of mine that is hard to find is Angel tears. I have also tried a red wine I like... White Merlot. It is a nice sweet red wine, goes good with red meat meals. Moscato is more of a dessert wine. Have you tried moscato with fresh fruit?? AWESOME!!!!

They are right. True wine drinkers stay away from Rieslings, the German one that starts with a "g," and white Zinfandels, which are sweet.
If you want to develop your wine palette, drink a lot of different varieties of wine from different locations from around the world. As with any art, most you won't like, few you will love.
The ones that you love, analyze the taste. How does it smell (never smell the cork...it smells like wet cork)? When you swirl the glass (always hold the stem, not the glass), how does the wine fall? Longer "legs" are better. How does it taste when it first hits you tongue and when you swallow it?

Go directly to dessert wines. Really flavorful and sweet, but really awsome!
Try Santa Julia Tardio if you can get it. It's great (from Argentina).

Try a Riesling. They are still sweet but not as much as a muscat. Go to Wines.com to learn more.

Try a Riesling. It isn't all that sweet but it isn't all that dry. I thik you would like it. Try white zinfandel, or blush wine if you like a little color.
