Its not about you...sorry
No greater love than that a man lay down His life for another.
That's what Jesus did...that's what being a Christian is about.
Laying down your life (including your idea of saving yourself)
Except a seed fall to the ground and die it will bear no fruit.
Take up your cross and follow me. As Jesus laid down His own life for us we must lay down ours for Him.

Nope. That isn't it. Understanding God and being Christian is about understanding how to live your life - and it's very, very simple but not always easy. You can sum up the whole of Christianity by this one little statement:
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
If you can do that your entire life in all instances...
Well, nevermind. 'Cos you can't. But it's the trying that matters.

Life is certainly a blessing and every day God gives us to enjoy it is also a blessing. Some days its easy to get caught up with the material things and man-made problems and forget that. My mother taught me to take the time to smell the roses and i truly didnt appreciate its meaning until i grew older and found Christ. You are absolutely right.

Because it's one big rollercoaster, so life levels out to being alright because there's soo many ups and downs, good times, bad times, etc. When you feel like you're having a bad day or something bad happens to you that causes you pain, anguish, anger, etc. just tell yourself that it could always be worse, and it's true.

You are rightfully right. You must be prepared for the coming of the Lord and stay away from sins at any time for we do not know when we will meet God.

Hahahaha yeah, fear of death is a super reason to believe in God. Course, I was under the impression it was supposed to be more about love...but what do I know, I'm an atheist

Being a Christian is about Jesus. Christian literally means "Little Christ". Looking from your perspective, it means that we should all be repenting 24/7. Being a Christian is all that and more.

Kind of.
Jesus did say something on the subject at Luke 9:24.
However, as long as we do have life, we should use it earnestly and wisely.
