No, I'd want to spend some time with my children. Maybe a year or two, depending on how long the money can sustain that sort of lifestyle.
My husband would want to take some time off to be with the kids too, so we'd take it in turns.

I know a family that this is the situation. It works great. I think if your confidant and your husband is reliable and you can trust him to get all the work done then do it! The most important part is that you are both happy.
