Think of it this way. You're send stuff the wrong way down a 1 way tube.
Secondly all the food that goes down has a fairly neutral pH of around 7 (scale is between 1 and 14). When you throw up, the food coming up has already mixed with stomach acid, which has a pH of 2. Very nasty stuff, That's stronger than battery acid, just consider yourself lucky you have food to buffer the acid.
Third, causes very bad breath.
The stomach acid rots your teeth and your 2nd (index) finger. That's right I'm a health professional and we're trained to look for bad breath, rotten teeth and scarred fingers on bulemic girls
Just don't do it. You'll be paying for it later. Not being able to eat anything you like because your stomach can't handle food any more. It''s just not worth it.

A person with anorexia can do damage to the heart, liver, and kidneys by not eating enough. The body slows everything down as if it were starving, causing a drop in blood pressure, pulse, and breathing rate. (For girls, this starvation mode may mean they stop getting their periods.) Lack of energy can lead people with anorexia to feel light-headed and unable to concentrate. Anemia (lack of red blood cells) and swollen joints are common in people with anorexia, as are brittle bones. Anorexia can cause a person's hair to fall out, fingernails to break off, and a soft hair called lanugo to grow all over the skin. In severe cases, eating disorders can lead to severe malnutrition and even death.

If you a weight or self image issue it is more of a problem than you already know. Bringing the stomach acid back destroys your esophogusand your teeth just to name a few things... Really you should talk to a professional about this.. YOU CAN DEFINITELY HURT YOURSELF... Just as bad as being anarexic...

Yes it is damaging in a number of ways. It's addictive and becomes uncontrollable while ruining your health and teeth. It also is not a very good way to lose weight. There is a lot of information on the web--read it and don't purge anymore. Good luck.

yes it can effect your health. You can burn out your esophagus from stomach acid. This acid will also eat away at the enamel on your teeth. I have a friend who is Bulimic and her teeth are so thin now they are almost transparent. If you continue this, you could wind up vomiting blood.

It will erode your esophagus and can cause you to aspirate vomit into your lungs and get chemical pneumonia. Not to mention that not eating and lack of nutrients can damage your heart and kidneys. Bulimia is a disease. You might need help before it gets out of control.

You should never throw up on purpose....the acid from your stomach can permanently damage your esophagus and your teeth.....
Just eat healthy and exercise..... extreme diets and dieting practices are BAD NEWS.
