It is an important aspect. That's why I am so glad that we have more extant manuscripts of the NT than any other historical document!

i think it matters in the sense that history in general matters. it is good to know where things came from, whether they are ideas, language, or people...
on a more personal level, i have always hated history in school, but i love to learn about the past. this way i am also able to learn about other religions and incorporate those into my faith. faith is a matter of belief. do i believe everything i read... no, especially when it comes to history... because the subject literally becomes HIStory.
i try to understand the times in which the bible, torah, quaran... and other holy text, were written in... what kind of things were going on... particularly how they viewed women (feminist here).
so (in my ramblings) yes history is an important part of my faith, but it is certainly not the center of my faith

Dang... I sure hope biblical history is not important to anybody's faith, since the OT is myth and the NT is a total fraud. They're sure gonna end up disappointed.

Yes Bibilical History is important in Catholosism.
Studying Biblical History helps me bond with God, Phophets, Jesus, Apostles, Saints, and all my other brothers and sisters who have come before me.

It is very important, without understanding the history you will not have time right as to before Christ and after Christ,or when the other prophets were around, the time frame.

What happens here and now is important. What happened centuries ago isn't going to feed the poor, help single mothers, or even make people do a nice deed here and there.

It's a huge aspect. Whenever Satan tries to tell me that the Bible is false, I remember the 36,000 New Testement Manuscripts that have been found.

It is important because it validates the truth of the Bible. That's why so much time and effort is put into Biblical scholarship.
