pay attention when she talks for the next couple of days.

it's likely that she'll see something on a commercial and say "that's so cute!" or something like that. I know I drop hints like crazy around my birthday.

If all else fails, get her a massage. It's a guarenteed hit. You can go to a local place and get a gift certificate for an hour massage or something. It'd be about 40-60 dollars so if you're young you can ask another relative to go in with you if you can't afford it alone.

If your Mom likes to put together puzzles, that would be a neat gift, or take Her out to lunch, spending time with Her Daughter would probably make Her very happy. The possibilities are endless. A DVD of her favorite movie, or take Her out for a movie. If she likes to read, maybe a subscription for books or magazines. If She's athletic, join in the fun with Her, spending time together would be memorable for both of you, if that's a possibility. Cook Her dinner, or have a picnic in a beautiful park .

It depends on your budget. One time I got my mom a little gift, but I also gave her coupons I made up. One was lunch on me, (take out or I would make it at home). Another was good for a hug for no reason whatsoever. Others were for various chores that she normally did (my mom was a housewife).
A couple were good for a run to the store for something she neded right away. Stuff like that. She loved it!

i like the ideas of a spa treatment, or even take her to a nail place that give pedicures and manicures, sometimes that can be cheaper than a spa. Just call around and ask the prices.
my mom i always try to get her jewlery or something i make myself cause i know she loves emralds and any kind of jewlry even if its like $10 at a department strore and she loves when i make something cause she knows it comes from my heart...either way she always cries...lol...thats how i know i did good...
good luck

There are really great pajamas that are delivered in a beautiful hat box. My mother loved them and said they were the best ever. The website is www.pajamagram.com . Shipping can be expedited, too. It arrived quite fast.

my mom loved getting a gift certificate for a pedicure and manicure. Or get her scented drawer liners or a gift certificate to a fun store.
