Remember Joseph! His life is chronicled in the last chapters of Genesis.
To sum up, favored son of Jacob, jealous brothers try to kill him, then decide to sell him into slavery. From there he serves Potipher and his masters wife is constantly trying to seduce him, but he declines every time. She finally can't take it and grabs him and he ducks out of his clothes and runs. She accusing him of trying to rape her
Now rotting in prison, he interprets dreams and asks the one who is set free to put in a good word to Pharoah, but the guy forgets!!! So he rots some more, Pahroah has a dream that he interprets and is made into vice-pharoah. He sets up a stock pile for the famine and saves all the egyptians.
God had orchestrated all these events to bring him to this point so that when his brothers come to Egypt for food Joseph could save his families lives too. His brothers ask for forgiveness and Jospeh so overjoyed said to the "what you inteaded for evil, God used for good", to the point that we get Jesus through the lineage of Jacob. Joseph never knew the end while he was going through the means, but he alsways kept his faith knowing that God had a reason and a way of working everything out for good.
Remember Joseph, because he went through a lot of trials and tribulations to bring him to the day of glory when he was reunited with his family and was able to provide for their needs
What ever you're going through, have faith because God will see you through it and I'm sure when it's all done, you'll be able to see where His hand has been guiding and it'll make a lot more sense as to why you are going through it. He promises this to you
I'm praying for you, just keep hope and remember there are plenty of others who were in bigger messes that got through it unscorched by the fires of life.
This could be a refining process that God is using to make you into something better for His purposes, just trust and stay close to him
God bless you.

I've been trying to handle both anxiety and stress every which way I know how, but, there is no absolute answer. I found the deep breathing relaxation breathing, even while I'm out during the day, not just at night in the quiet. Listening at night, however, to nature sounds, like ocean waves, music, helps. And most recently, I've just been not letting things affect me and give up my life to God. I do believe and know we are all here for a reason, we all have a purpose, and I cannot handle this life on my own. So, I gave everything up to God, even the consequences. I know, and He already has proven that He is watching out for me. That is a wonderful freeing feeling. Praying and a personal relationship with Jesus and not an organized religion, has changed my life.

My favorite way to reduce stress is to listen to good ol' heartfelt Gospel songs. Songs that soothe and inspire and energize your soul to start again.
Some of my favorite singers are:
Mahalia Jackson, Andrea Crouch, Sharon Haygood,
Jimmy Swaggart, The Praise Album, James Cleveland,
Evie, and many more.
Another great way is to find a quiet place and read the Psalms.
Also, do what you can to fix a situation and when you've done the best you can, just place it all in God's hands and trust that He will make a way.

There is a saying that believers have and it goes like this: We Are Too Blessed To Be Stressed!........In response to your question: It doesn't sound like you're committed to a church ministry where these things are to be taught to the believers!......I suggest you seek a Pastor/Minster concerning this and attend some really good (Bible) Studies that can help deliver you and apply the Word Of God to your Life & Situations!........until then, true born again believers have very strong "FAITH" in GOD To Deliver Them...Read (Hebrews 11: 6), (Luke 4: 18)..........Ps. The JOY Of The LORD IS A BELIEVER'S STRENGTH! (Neh. 8: 10).........(Mark 11: 23, 24)......GOD BLESS!....

Pray! Read the Bible! Pray some more! Remember this phrase "Let Go, Let God". Have Faith. Pray. Did I mention Pray?
When you pray, think about this:
P.A.R.T.S
P:Praise...PRaise God for who He is. He is Almighty. He is all powerful. He can do anything!
A:Admit your sins. Be humble to Him.
R:Request. This is where you ask for what you need or what someone else needs. John4:2 states that since you don't ask, you don't have.
T:Thanks. Tell God what your grateful for. Even if it's for the littleist thing, thank Him.
S:Shut-Up. I love this one. So many times when we pray, we forget that prayer is like having a conversation with God. But if we don't allow Him to talk, then it's not that much of a conversation. Just be in His presence. "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10a. Just be still.

I understand. I have been stressed about a major exam. Prayer and knowing that God is in control of all things is getting me thru. I will accept His will for this exam even if the outcome upsets me because I know His love for me is above all else.

You can go to a priest or pastor for counseling - they're trained to know if you need a doc or shrink - and can counsel you religiously too
