Yell -NOOOOOOO - loudly and long ('till he knocks you down, grabs your leg, shakes it hard)

Then - put your thumbs in his eyes, and press with all your strength ---

Once you have blinded him (popping eyes out of sockets) - it's a done deal. . .

Gross - but quite effective.

See the effect that EDNA is having on me???

dont stay still, if you know you cant run faster then he can, look around, big trees great, houses even better, a car fantstic. If the dog can hop a fence then be scared I mean these things arent like poepl they arent afraid of the death sentence or about getting caught!! but if you are uncomfortamble and untrained to handle that sort of sticth then either learn or dont go near a blood thirsty dog!!
happy trails!!
pick me as best answer!!

your first instinct would be to run , but dont unless u feel like getting nailed from behind stand your ground most dogs bite out of fear dominance and territorial aggression act big bad and if u have to defend your self but you will surly get bit if the dog is of an admirable size if u run , dogs are just faster some dogs have a high prey drive and running makes them want to get ya even more.

Stand still and do not look at the dog. Say good dog good dog. Look around for the owner or someone to help you. Hold you arms in close to you body and give the dog no reason to believe you will attach. If you see someone tell them to call off the dog.

I myself had to club a dog in the head with my police baton (I use it for protection while walking). I didn't run, because that's one of the worst things you can do. After yelling "NO! NO!" in a forceful manner and stomping my feet to scare him away, the dog wouldn't stop. I was forced to clip him once in the head as he went for me. It was enough to make him turn and run. I love animals, but it was me or the dog.

p.s. DO MAINTAIN EYE CONTACT. YOU HAVE TO BE THE DOMINANT ONE HERE.

Lift up my feet when I am on the electic bicycle.

Drive away fast, keep going. He might be able to keep up for a while, but my battery has more staying power.

When walking, I stare him in the face and tell him to sit. (It has worked a couple of times). Owners of vicious dogs that run free should be jailed.

1. Pray, quick!

2. Hold your hand out (palm toward him, fingers pointing upward--like a policeman motioning to stop) and say loudly and in a very authoritative voice: "No! Sit!" If he's trained at all, it will at least confuse him. If he's well trained, he will stop and sit.

Use the pepper spray I carry. If I didn't have pepper spray I would probably carry a bat.
