When people learn to love themselves, warts and all, then there will cease to be a need to put down others. When humans realize that it is our place to be responsible for our own lives, children and choices, and that my neighbor's choices are theirs to make, then we begin to accept other humans for being who they are.
We are all imperfect. When we begin to accept our own imperfections, there is little reason to judge someone's else as inferior.
Different is beautiful. Oh what a boring world it would be if we were all the same!

Well.
"Over the past few decades, many anthropologists have grown disenchanted with racial classifications and become convinced that race is neither a useful nor a valid biological concept among humans. Admittedly, the discipline is divided on the question. Cultural anthropologists appear to be strongly in favor of abandoning race partitioning. Many physical anthropologists agree, and studied have shown that by the late 1970s most physical anthropology textbooks argued that human races do not exist in the biological sense."
The true resolution to racial equality is to understand that race is not a biological function, but a cultural construct. From there, it follows that cultural inequality must be addressed by acceptance of equality within each culture and sub-culture.
In other words, people have to stop thinking they're better than everyone else because they're not.

Unconditional love, tolerance, and understanding. This, we will never have in this world because we can not or will not love one another unconditionally. However, we will be close to resolution when racial topics no longer make the news. In other words, the first "black" to do so and so isn't important anymore to our social/cultural environment because racial backgrounds are insignificant.
I hope what I've written makes sense.....Good luck on finding your answer. :-)

For everyone who wishes to be treated equal, to BE equals. Which means no more Chinatown, Black History Month, Gay Pride Parade, Miss Black America, NAACP and so on. If people want equality, give up your special rights and everyone will have to work at getting what they want.

Empathy and education.
We need to KNOW in our hearts and minds that people are people the world over, that we all have dreams and loves and we are all born of woman and we all die. We all love and hate and judge and worship, fight addictions and conquer them. The ways are different and the impacts they have, but the struggle is the same.
There's enough pain in this world without inflicting it on others. Car wrecks, cancer, plane crashes, cancer, AIDS, HPV, cirrhosis, alcoholism, loss of loves ones, break-ups . . . we should be a support for each other, not a hinderance to our personal progress to be better people.

there is no right answer to this question. As humans we were given free will by God. Our only hope for resolving racial issues is for everybody to treat everyone else with the same respect they themselves want.

Equality in all faucets of life. Equal health care, equal education, equal housing, equal job opportunities, treating your brother as a equal before God. I hope no one says belief in Jesus because we all know that is a farce! Sunday church services are the most segregated entity in America.

There is no resolution. Bigoted thought is a part of human nature. We can (and should) try to educate people and overcome it as much as possible, but we will never be rid of it.

For the first two people who answered saying ,Jesus Christ: "In Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, nor bond nor free, nor male nor female: for we are one in Christ.", you're wrong, it was St. Paul who said that, not Jesus Christ. The true resolution is to explain to racists and everybody who has hate in their heart that Jesus said "Love one another as I have loved you", and tell them that they have to stop "justifying" their hatred through religion, which is meant to be a thing of love, not hate.
