Lactic acid burn generally occurs after the 7th rep or so according to research.Try doing your heaviest weights first after you warm up for a few sets.Heavy weight has the most dramatic affect on muscle hypertrophy so heavy weights are imperative for mass.Try doing burn out sets at the end of your workouts for 15-20 reps for 3 additional sets.Try to hold the weight in the most contracted position for 3-5 seconds each. This prevents additional blood flow until the set is over thus creating a lactic acid build up which also influences your growth hormone secretion. The soreness the next few days is micro trauma and not lactic acid.Micro trauma is necessary for growth so make sure you're sore 1-2 days after wards.Take plenty of protein every three hours to maintain nitrogen balance.Check out some of my best answers or send me a message cuz I'm out of room.

Most people don't really push it. Thus they adapt and feel no soreness. This is ok - and healthy.
I push it - I am alwayse sore somewhere, any day of the week. I work out 6 times a week and give each muscle group 7 days of rest (as primary muscle). I need at least this much - in fact, working out biceps on Thursday and back the next Monday has given me problems, like today. I'm worried about tommorrow's chest, because my triceps are still killing me. Basically, I do from 15-30 sets for each body part and 5-3 sets (main exercises, like bench, 5, secondary exercises, like hammer curls, 3) per single lift. This kills you at first; starting this sort of intensity is very hard (first 4 weeks are hell after a break). The intensity isn't in straining (though you push the limit of course) or even volume (you get used to it) but in dedication - every day I work out and it has been weeks since I've deviated from this or my diet/sleep schedual. There's no "oh I don't feel up to such and such today." Do this and trust me, you'll have yourself sore all the time. And you don't need to even do so much weight - you'll get great results very fast. Just find the time and inspiration. There are dozens of other ways of pushing it - mine is only one, but it works for anyone, and me in particular. While this will do it for you, mabye another routine would be better for you in particular. Experiment and research. But in the end, if you're pushing it to your potential, you will definitely alwayse be sore after working out. Every time, if you did your job. Good luck.

I was the shorter, plumper girl. I'd been about 190, 200, most of my adult life. And I met my goal, ten weeks ahead of schedule. And feeling empowered, I decided to drop even lower. I never imagined that I would be 125 pounds, and go from a size 18 to a size 2.

That kind of good burn or tiredness is ok since it means your muscles are being strained just a bit. I is better to feel no pain and just a bit of tiredness after lifting. Warming up before exercising with weight is a good idea to avoid muscle sprains and strains.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.
1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.
2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.
3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.
These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

Meat not only provides important micronutrients, but it's a rich source of protein and necessary for healthy growth. Protein is one of the most important dietary resources that your body needs, especially when you are on a weight loss program. Protein takes a systematic approach to your body, from your brain to your waistline and down to your toenails. Protein helps brain cells, lung cells, muscles, bones, and repairs just about everything. It carries oxygen to our cells and makes enzymes to digest the food we eat (whether we're trying to lose weight or not). It also runs through our blood and is responsible for our hair, fingernails and toenails. Learning how to include meat in your diet when you're trying to lose weight is necessary for every part of your body - from your head down to your toes. Meat, unlike other foods, contains the complete amino acids for total body functioning. There's no sense trying to lose weight if you're not going to be functioning after your weight loss program.

You should increase the weight, do different moves or increase the reps. Your body is getting used to your workout so you don't feel it as much now. Switch up your routine and you'll "feel the burn".

The pain occurs the next day... lactic acid build-up in the muscle tissue is an irritant. And the best indicator that you successfully broke down some of it and are rebuilding new.
Vitamin C will help with the discomfort if it gets too intense.

Don't push it. It can take a day or two to feel the soreness.
