Go to the pet store they have doggie underwear that you put absorbent pads into. I use regular panty shields because they are cheaper than the pads. My dog is usually on the rag for about two weeks and it will happen twice a year. It's best to just get her fixed.

yes they do make things to keep your dog from bleeding all over your house, they sell them at major pet stores like petco. they are like a diaper. Usually dogs stay in heat for about two weeks, but she should not bleed heavily for the entire two weeks, I have only noticed my female dog bleeding for five days or so, but even if the bleeding stops, they are still able to get caught. A typical dog will come into heat every six monts, or twice a year. If you do not plan on breeeding her, then spaying her will prevent her from bleeding and coming into heat. good luck

Heat lasts three weeks and they go into heat about every six months.
They sell doggie hot pants at PetSmart for under $10 and you just put a pad in to the pants and it keeps her from bleeding all over the place.
If you are not going to breed this dog get her spayed it will lower her risk of cancer and you won't have the mess every six months.

A dog stays in heat for approximately three weeks. Go to the pet store and get her some panties for her. Keep her away from any male dogs for about 3-4 weeks. You will need to get some pet odor neutralizer because that is a nasty smell, and it doesn't come out easily. I kept my great dane inside, she had her own bedding that she knew was hers, kept her puppy padded panties on her, and sprayed, washed, and neutralized everyday. You will have to walk her on a leash, because females in heat will try to roam as bad as the male dogs that will be coming into your yard, and howling!

Yes, they do make little belts for female dogs that are in season. As your vet or local pet supply store. Odds are that once you tell them she's in heat they'll know what you need before you even finish the sentence.

No they don't but if you have an old sheet or blanket that you don't want that would work, and she will be in heat for about a week, and some times twice a year.
