Oh man...this is your best answer and for it I do NOT require 10 points! I was where you are 4 years ago. I am a believer in the Power and Word of God and what I did was write a list of exactly what I wanted in a man. I also had a journal a friend of mine gave me that I called "My Husband Journal." I would write in it every night before I went to sleep. In October of 2003, this fabulous guy asked me if I wanted to get to know him better (we were in Toastmasters Club at church together) and I said yes....guess what..he had every single one of the characteristics I wrote down! Some, I should have consulted the dictionary about before writing, too! One page of my journal said something like, "I don't know, LORD, maybe he could even be a doctor." That's right. We married the day after he graduated medical school. I can send you some info unless this sounds ludicrous to you but I assure you I am a very sane, very honest and real woman. Best wishes, honey! I hope you find him, better yet, I hope he finds Y O U! You desire to be a wife and you will.
Peace.

Look for friends not possible dates. The guy who may not be such a great date prospect- maybe he has a receding hairline, is over-weight or is not so hot is in the looks department is the best husband material
Many guys who are hot, act like they are, and are awful husband material. They think the world owes them something.
The guy who may have spent his teen years being overlooked often understands and values a relationship more then the guy who flitted from girl to girl. As a result he will treat you better and care for you as a person, not as just another date.
Trust me, the person I am with I would never thought of as date material, but when my son outgrew some sporting equipment and I asked this person who I had only seen before at practices if he had this equipment in a larger size that I could buy from him. He ran home over lunch and gave me the equipment cause I needed it. I thought what a nice guy.
My ex- moved out 2 months later. The next time I saw this person was about 4 months after my ex- moved out I gave this person back the equipment and we became friends. A year later, we kissed. It has now been 11 years and we still haven't really had a fight. Must tell you something.

Anywhere but the online dating services. Take it from me, I've had no luck in that, and men typically find women too desperate to search for love on the internet. You should definitely go out one evening. Walk around, go and have a drink at a local bar, where all the young and potential single guys hang out.

On line dating services. Some people have claimed to have bad luck but me and my circle of friends have found our husbands/potential spouses from theses sites. You have to be patient, be selective and know exactly what you want.
And be careful of the church boys. I met my abusive ex-husband at church! You'll find some good ones there but there are also those who hide behind religion to find some poor vulnerable young lady.

Honestly, try a supermarket or laundrymat and look for the guys that don't seem to have any clue as to what they are doing. You'd be amazed at how "nice" those kind of guys are and obviously if they care enough to be at either of those places most likely they are the responsibe type.

Husband material can be found upon the chair a married man vacates or sometimes in the bed. The material is not really good for anything but you are welcome to try all the chairs & beds at our house.

don't date little boys for one. Any guy that acts the slightest bit immature is not ready to be married. So avoid players, for example. As well as any guy who up front says 'I'm just dating for fun' or says 'I don't want kids'.
Then hang out at the good places, not bars, for example. Church is a great place to meet the good single guys.

LOL the single's lament...if you're religious, look around at your church and see if there's any single guys that meet that general description...there's a couple good online dating websites that have a good reputation, I think one is www.true.com, look around also in your community, see if there's any single's meets etc...
