You have to forgive others, forgive yourself, give it all to God, and recieve the peace and love that God gives... pray pray and pray....
Jesus said," Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."- Matthew 11:28-29
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you."- John 14:27
"Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the rightious fall."- Psalm 55:22
Jesus said," Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will recieve, and your joy will be complete."- John 16:24
This is important... a Christian should never base their relationship with God only with emotions... because feelings often cover up the truth...
you can feel abandoned, but the truth is God never left you...
Christian life is full of ups and downs, joy in the presense of God and in the low times God makes you stronger...
I am praying for you... may God bless you

Letting go is frequently difficult because many people feel that the time they've put into something (for example, a friendship, a business, a marriage,) is an investment, and they don't want to feel the investment has failed. Or they don't want to acknowledge that they've failed by making a poor choice from the start. (Like marrying an abusive spouse when they saw the signs before the wedding.)
Pretending the hurt isn't there is only pretending. Interesting how you have one of your own answers right there. Pretending is what children do. Facing reality is what we learn to do as we mature.
It's normal to feel empty when something that was good (or that we wanted to be good,) is lost. Yeah, you're a regular person, with regular needs and desires for life. But have you noticed how sometimes people tend to say one bad thing means you can't deserve something else? "I have a broken tooth, but I can't go to the dentist because he'll give me a shot and start drilling."
Sure, he probably will, but why? To FIX the HURT.
Same thing with God. He doesn't cause the hurt, pain and suffering in this world, despite the many people who want to blame him for it. He's the one who wants to help us get through it, and be stronger for the experience. God won't try to make you hurt more just to prove He's God and you're a pitiful excuse for humanity. No, He's not like that. He may help you bring out other painful things that you'll need to discard, but after they're gone, you will feel better.
Try prayer first. Use your own words, and talk with Him. Listen for how He'll try to guide your thoughts to something that can bring more peace. And then do as He counsels you.
But you have to DO. Most people who enjoy their lives are engaged in some kind of service, some volunteer effort. And you might be pleasantly surprised at the quality of people you'll meet in the process.

Negative feelings, like anger, hurt, sorrow--any kind of emotional suffering--are a natural consequence of not thinking correctly. This is a good thing because, if we pay attention to why we feel these feelings, we can learn not to make it happen again.
To let go, all you have to do is learn the truth of what I say in this message. Negative feelings hold you down and prevent you from being as good and happy as you can be. But they all have a cause.
There is a verse in the Bible that says, "In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his service." This is also true. No matter what happens in your life, if you sincerely seek what is true and right, you can see why these things happen and you can learn to keep them from happening in your life.
It's sometimes hard to "let go" because we mistakenly identify some event in our lives as a part of ourselves.

I have the same question, I recently went to a camp service, and he said that it is a normal feeling, but we need to pray, to ask God to help us forgive the person(s) that have hurt us.

get yourself busy with something else and when the thoughts of whatever it is that you are trying to let God handle, come into your mind, tell yourself - it will be okay, God's handling that for me, and move on with something else.

time!
the only thing of value my dad ever gave me was this:
you never know what you are going to do in life that you can't live with until you have done it.
but by then, it is to late.
