That's a damn fine point there son. The same people who say you can't judge all Christians because a few extremists bomb abortion clinics are the same ones that say all Muslims are terrorists.

Yes, St. James said, "the tongue is a double edged sword." It cuts both ways, inside and out. What a person says can destroy a person.

Fundamentalists of all religions are in error and do not represent their own religions, correctly.

As for the Christians, their founder said that that we should love ourselves, our friends and our neighbors. The fundamentalists are not doing that.

What we have in the States is a peculiar and cultural adaptation. It bears little resemblance to the Christianity that began with Jesus in Palestine.

Hopefully, you will consider being an agnostic. This way you will learn new things with an open mind. Atheists have closed minds and often don't think things through.

I do not think that it is appropriate to categorize "all" by the actions of a "few," whether they are Christian, Muslim, Atheist, or whatever... That is called stereotyping.

To answer your question though, I was not aware that Christians were saying all Muslims were violent. Is it just the Christians saying this and not Buddhists, Mormons, Hinduisms, Jehovah's Witnesses, Atheists, etc...???

It is not a Christian trait to resort to violence to solve a problem. It is, however, human nature to do so. Those who are Christians still battle with their 'old nature' and still succumb periodically to its tendencies. This does not mean they aren't Christians, it just means that they are still not victorious over the proclivity to violence.
Islam, on the other hand, does not condemn violence, in fact, it welcomes it. Does this mean that all Muslims are violent? No, but a certain percentage are.

People who claim to be Christians have a set of beliefs just like any other religious group does. The set of beliefs a Christian has should be based upon the Bible. A lot of Christians don't base their beliefs on the Bible though. They base them upon what their "pastor" says or what their "sunday school teacher" says or what their "bible study leader" says. And none of those above people may be right in what they're saying either.

So a lot of Christians who go around saying those things and being hypocrites probably aren't very good Christians. Just as I know very little about chemistry because I haven't studied it much, so too do some Christians know very little about their Faith because they haven't studied it much.

They may go around acting like they know how they're supposed to respond to different situations or people, but in reality, they don't know much.

not understanding the question. please cite a few examples for the Christian question.
to answer the Muslim question... the Koran states that all MUST submit to Allah and those who don't must die. There is no word for "peace" in the Koran. Sharia law(which is based on the Koran) states that ... for example if you're caught stealing, you get your right hand cut off. If you're caught in adultery, you're either stoned to death or beheaded. Women have no rights.
Saw a documentary on Discovery Times Channel that detailed how the Saudi police will not even investigate a possible break in in a private home if there is no man in the household! (what's a woman to do?) Furthermore, this same documentary reported on how at least a dozen girls were burned to death in a boarding school because they didn't have their headdresses on! (it seems the girls were more concerned with their lives than modesty... oops.)

*nods* But there are so many views of this religion, and so many different theories on all the unexplained parts, that some people believe that types of behavior and the actions of these others are wrong, that they will go around shooting their mouth off about otehrs who don't believe what THEY specifically believe.

and that statement is basically bull and unresolved. a true christian, who is a sinner, like everyone on this earth, (supposing we go by bible terms) can even loose their temper at times, be violent, hurt a person by words or actions, and many other things. I won't go into extravagant details.

Hope this helped!

Why must people always generalize? "These people" are not all the same just as not all atheists are the same. We do not all say that muslims are violent, in fact i try to understand other points of view rather than be totally biased against it. Maybe you should try too.

Christians who are being violent are not listening to the Bible and the teachings of the Lord. They are not following God's plan.

About Muslims, from what I have heard about the Koran, a true muslim is supposed to kill anyone that they meet who is not Muslim. This is what I have heard.

okay...bear with me. I'm going to try to explain it with preaching at ya. A TRUE Christian has God in his/her heart. Part of God is the Holy Spirit. In the Bible, Galations 5:22, 23a, it states, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." We can look at other people and be able to tell if they are true or not by "comparing" them to this list. If they don't have anything that's on the list, then they don't have God in their heart.

I can't say this for everyone, but I don't believe that all terrorists are Muslims and/or that all Muslims are terrorists. That just might be a stereotype.

I don't understand that either. It is'nt right to justify those christians as bad and then say muslims are violent. The things that people under those religions do are the bad that needs to be blamed.
