go to petfinders.com..this is a resource for rescue groups..just put in your zip code and be AMAZED at how many choices you have..i adopted a Great Pyrenees mix from them..my dog Sylvester is wonder full..check it out..do a good deed..adopt a dog..good luck to you !!
