A Crew Chief would prob be best for you if you want to get into the MX carrer field.

You will basically be assigned an aircraft and you will ultimatly be in charge making sure all the maintenance is done to and all inspections are complete. Basically if the plane crashes they are coming to you.

Back in the day before 9/11 they actually used to put the pilots and crew chiefs name on the side of the plane.

a crew chief, hmmmm. some 12 hour shifts, working outside in the elements, in the cold, hot, dusty, greasy work, and depending where you get stationed and type of aircraft you would be on, they fly 24/7. alerts, recalls, weekend duty, shift work, and the flight crews get all the credit. been to places that get so cold that ice crystals form on the walls, and places so damn hot, you just want to lay down and melt. its not just assuring that the work on the plane gets done, its doing a lot of it yourself. good luck. and the names of pilots and crew chiefs are still put on the sides of planes.
