What kind? Russian, Cheese, Meat? The cheese ones are cottage cheese with milk and eggs, and the flour thing is made just like noodles, except when you roll them out, don't roll it out too thin. Then cut it into a circle. Put the cheese in the middle, fold the noodle thing over the cheese, and then press on it so it sticks together. OR go to a Polish store, Russian store, or normal grocery store, go to frozen foods section, and look for dumplings or pierogis (which they are also called) Then just dump them in the microwave or boiling water and viola!

Or if you make some kind of stew add a can of biscuits when you have about 10 minutes left. put them on the top of the stew and cover for 10 - 15 minutes

Dumplings are usually made from flour...like a biscuit. If you boil chicken and it makes a broth...take the chicken out when done and drop the pieces of dumplings in and let them cook till tender.
I usually take a can of biscuits and roll each one separate out on a floured board. Then I cut it in strips and drop into the chicken broth. I let them cook about 30 minutes, or until they are tender. These are great!!

It depends on the dumplings. I know that in Jamaica they use flour, salt, water, and sometime other spices to taste. Now in chinese culture, they use flour and water but then they stuff them with pork or other meats, and spiced vegetables. Ive had them too they're good!!!

Chicken and dumplings? The secret is the chicken broth, it soaks in and gives them that special flavor. I make mine from homemade chicken broth, using the recipe on the side of a box of Bisquick. It's simple and delicious!

Lots of quick recipes for dumplings listed here but the whole point is the way you cook them.
After you make a good chicken or beef stew, you drop them in the pot, put the lid on and let the steam cook them, then they are one third flavor of the pot, one third bisquit and one third heavenly essence of the pot and good for sopping the gravy. They thicken the stew and steam themselves. YUMMY

ohhhhhh how I miss my mama's dumplings... yeah girl... flour, salt, water but you can spice it up with some butter or milk (not too much).. best thing to do though is look up some receipes online and compare them and see which ones you like... you can fry up some dumplings, or boil them in soup.. eat them by themselves make little sandwhiches with them... my favorite is eggs cheese and fried plantains in between fried dumplings... girl you took me back home for a minute.
