You may also wish to see which video input your TV is set up for. Some of the newer models have different settings, usually adjusted by your remote control, to tell the TV to take the input from coas, A/V, S-video, composite, etc.

On the back of the Surround DVD look for a 4 pin S/Video or a yellow RCA connector. If you have a green,blue and red go with them for the best picture then hook them up to an input on the tv, then use the remote for the tv to change your input that matches the one in the back of your tv, if all you have is a screw on cable connection then you will need a modulator to take the yellow video connection and turn it into coax.
