i love chocolates and every kind of cookies, pies, cakes, and i love candy. and i know exactly what you mean its hard to give it. we all know its not good for us, but it can be hard to stop! WHAT WORKED FOR ME is knowing how much i had to run just to loose the calories for that snack. example sneakers have over 200 calorories about 260 280 which means, for me i had to run 15 minutes! and if i didnt have time to run that day ...i'd better not eat it! plus sweet stuff get you tired and make you feel bloated. try drinking lots of water. good luck!

I have a lot of problems but addiction to sugar isn't one of them.
I'd suggest cutting down on sugar. A little bit at a time.
For example if you normally take 2 tsp of sugar in your coffee, try 1&1/2 then after a week cut to 1 tsp ect.
Try sugar free snacks - those made with spenda or something. And there are many many sites now with diabetic recepies. Try making your own.
Do extra work. Extra exercise while your body is withdrawing - then you will so sleepy you may not even notice the differnece.
Sometimes if you brush your teeth the 'craving' will go away. Works for me.
When you get a 'craving' look at the clock. Wait 20 min before you have that snack. Then if you still want it - go ahead. Afer a while your body will adjust to life without it.
Also do things like crafts or puzzles or something else that will take your mind off it.
Give it about a month and see if you can cut down -even if it's just a little - 'the journey of a thousand miles, starts with a single step'

The only way to stop eating these foods is sheer willpower. It takes approximately two weeks to get stuff out of your system. I have done it before, but not able to stay on it. When I give blood, they make you eat sugar afterwards & I will be right back on it.
If it is just a matter of chewing, try gum. It works best for me. Substituting snacks has not.
If I eat chocolate, I eat dark chocolate---since it is so rich you do not eat as much.

Try to get the same food you get but healthier, so that way you can still eat them but not feel guilty. I guess I take it for granted to eat healthy considering I live with a health freak (my grandmother) so she gets all healthy foods. Such as frozen yogurt instead of ice cream etc.
