should yahoo answers have an age restriction
I only ask because i would not want my 13yr old on here
not thats its bad but some people do go overboard and give out wrong information and when you are that age you dont know wrong from right

I think they should have a separate area for young kids. I totally agree with you about kids not knowing wrong information from right. Plus, I don't think it's safe what some of these young people (especially girls) are putting out there in a forum with people so much older than themselves. It's a shame that we live in a world where you have to worry so much, but it's just not safe to advertise...and sometimes they don't know when they've said too much.

I agree in principle. I think they should have a way of filtering answer to young and even older teens. I agree with the idea. I also think you are a responsible parent since you said that about your 13 year old. Too few parents are any more. Maybe a Yahoo Teens Answers, and a Yahoo Kids answers where subject matter is limited and answers are monitored to stop bad content.

Would be a good idea, but how would Yahoo know how old anyone is here. People lie about their age all the time.

Would be a good idea but kids would find ways round the restriction, theirs no way of yahoo knowing the ages.

When you are that age you do know wrong from right just as much as an adult does if the child was raised correctly. Some things aren't appropiate for younger people, so let him/her go on, but put child block on all inappropiate things.

As a parent you should always know where your child is on the internet!
If you as a parent do not feel comfortable allowing your child on certain sites then by all means do not let them!

You are the parent! Start by taking responsibility for your child!

I think that you have the right attitude there mate, i don't even let my 15 year old daughter on here because of the same reason. But i don't think they would be able to monitor it properly.
