I think 8th gr is way too young. I have 4 kids, only one of them is a girl though. She is only 11, but she knows she's not allowed to date until 16. That was when i started dating, and I turned out fine. However, i think if a group of friends (boyfriend included in the group) wants to go out somewhere, that's fine. My oldest son went to a dance in 8th grade. But i think it's different for guys. OH BOY....I'm gonna catch hell for that one. I agree maturity also plays a part with it. I'm not against my daughter having a young man over to the house for dinner or movies or something. Just not out a lone unsupervised. OK, I'm done now.

8Th grade yes she is too young to date she should be into her school work unless she is 16 or 17 years old in The 8Th grade if your parents allow it there is nothing you can do. Just look out for her and hope she doesn't get her heartbroken which she will it will might hurt more cause she is so young.

Yes 8th grade is too young to date, in fact it is too young to have a "boyfriend" or "girlfirend". It is ok to go to the movies with a group, skating etc, as long as there is a group. Not one on one. Sorry, 16 is the absolute youngest for a date or boyfriend/girlfriend.

no that is not too young, usually where i come from 8th graders are 13 about to make 14 and some are 15 so i think that it's an appropriate age to be dating.

I don't recommend dating that young. I think that 16 is a better age. People are getting pregnant younger and younger these days.. So the longer the parents can put of their daughter dating the better.

I think it's too young. Theres so much time to date, why rush it. I think sophmore year in high school is a good time to start dating - which is when most people are about 16.
