Some do, some don't. Islam is a very religious religion. So terrorists convert and tell young Muslim men that Allah will give them a great afterlife if they bomb something or if they kill some people. It's not all Muslims.

You sound so young and innocent... and foolish. Have you forgotten how the Jews were oppressed by Christians for so long? Have you forgotten the holocaust? Or what about the Bosnian crises. So many innocent Muslims were massacred by Christians.
It is not the Islamic religion itself. It is what the people are going through right now. Ever since Israel was formed things have gone wrong for the Muslim world. When the Palestinians were forcefully kicked off their land and made into refugees, a seed of hatred was sown.
Blame who you will. But don't blame the religion. Even if you have, I have not forgotten the Christian crusades.
And personally, being the atheist that I am, I think "bad educated people" are attracted to any religion that gets to them first.

Cherchi1985 pretty well sums up the current state of the practice of Islam in 2006. What disturbes me is these 1.5 billion Muslims are making very little contribution to modern society. Everything they have that is modern is from the west. Where are their Nobel scholars that reveal the world of science and medicine for the betterment of mankind? What music have they contributed, what great works of art are their creations? While Muslims lay claim to a great civilization in the past, the accomplishments were the fruits of the Ottoman Turks, who have a genius for organization and military affairs. The Turks have also rejected Islam's control over state affairs and are the most modern Muslim nation is the middle east.

Please don't take this answer in the wrong way, but I think you are confused. The problem is much more complicated than that.
Islam is not a religion that incites to violence, though many people think it does because of what they see in the media. In part, the US Government has mislead all the information it has regarding the Middle East. Several terrorist groups established in the Middle East, such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and others are really the ones that have lead most people to think that Islam is a religion of terrorism, violence and vengeance.
I am not a muslim, but I know several muslims, and friends who have relatives in Syria and Lebanon, among other Middle Eastern countries, and they have told me that people in these countries live terrified, being victims of their own governments and of terrorist groups, the only thing most people in these countries want is peace, and to live free and safe with their families.

Can Muslims Be Good Americans?
Bigoted or not........just read and think and draw your own
conclusions. Can Muslims be Good Americans?
Can a devout Muslim be an American patriot and a loyal
citizen? Consider this:
Theologically, no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the
moon god of Arabia.Scripturally, no.Because his allegiance
is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran)
Geographically, no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to
which he turns in prayer five times a day.Socially, no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him
to make friends with Christians or Jews.
Politically, no. Because he must submit to the
mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.Domestically, no, because he is instructed to marry four
women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys
him (Quran 4:34).
Religiously, no. Because no other religion is
accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)
Intellectually, no, because he cannot accept the American
Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he
believes the Bible to be corrupt.Philosophically, no, because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran
do not allow freedom of religion and __expression.
Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist.
Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually, no, because when we declare "one nation under
God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while
Allah is NEVER referred to as our heavenly father, nor is
he ever called love in the Quran's 99 excellent names.
Therefore after much study and deliberation....perhaps we
should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this
country. They obviously cannot be both good Muslims and good
Americans. Call it what you wish...it's still the
truth. If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with
the above, perhaps you will share this with your friends.
The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country.
The war is bigger than we know

Everyone will have an opinion (his or her own) on this. Mine is simply that Islam is a harsh, unforgiving, intolerant, punitive, primitive religion, practiced today by relatively backward and uneducated people. This primitive religion has shown it is incapable of moderating its hateful and intolerant teachings so as to live in a peaceful and civilized way with others in modern society. I think the present generations of Muslims are so indoctrinated that they cannot be peaceful or civilized during their lifetimes. Education is the only possible long term answer for them.

No dude they don't. I spent several years in that part of the world. You're condemning a race of people based on the actions of a handful of zealots. When you stop to consider how many people you are talking about the percentage of wacko's is relatively small. And as for Ernest, dude you need to get your head out of the darkness and do some studying. Allah is not a moon god and when they pray to Mecca they are praying to the bones of Abraham who is also the father of the Hebrews. Stop listening to all the BS do some research and grow up. And for the record before you start bad mouthing me I spent 16 years in The Army Special Forces so I am patriotic. Just tired of people passing judgment on things they don;t know anything about. After all didn't your "Christ" say to judge not lest ye be judged!

First of all why do you target the Muslim religion?
Haven't you seen the news?
Israel is going to take Lebanon just because of two soldiers! America is supplying Israel with the best weapons there is! How can we not be angry or full of hatred? Why did Americans invade Iraq? because of weapons that Saddam didn't have? Think about it.
And for the first reply My Mother and brother are Christan so don't make false statements about a religion that you know NOTHING about!!!
Jews.....

Most Muslims are peaceful. However, a person living a stable life won't make the news. We only hear about major events, many of which are results of terrorism. I'm not going to lie and say that there are no terrorists, but Muslims make up a third of the world's population. If they were all terrorists, every Christian country would be attacked daily.

Yes they are peaceful! At the beginning of Islam, Muslims converted people by...uhhh...by the sword...oh yeah. And uh, what about in 1948, when Israel became a state! They were so nice...oh yeah, they declared war on Israel and tried to exterminate them. What about the 90s though, eh? Oh wait, they bombed embassies and hijacked planes. But in the turn of the century, surely something changed! Nope, uhh....that whole 9/11 thing...and then Afghanistan, and then London....Spain...Iraq...uhhh...there's a good one in there somewhere!
