It's a refrigerator cake...kind of like a layered dessert. I love them! You can make banana pudding icebox cake by using Nilla wafers and pudding, whipped cream and bananas. There's a great one I just got from food network...it's called Eclair Cake. Go to foodnetwork.com and search for Paula Deen's July 16th show. It only takes 10 minutes to prepare but you must refrigerate it for 24 hours...it's worth the wait! Good luck!

Yes, I have made them before, and they are delicious. Basically, an old-fashioned cake that needs to be kept in the icebox, or fridge. I have recipes for orange, lemon, or lime-flavored; email me if you're interested.

An icebox cake is one that needs refrigeration in order to keep it good. I have had several and they were pretty good

yes! it's made w/ "lady fingers", chocolate, and lots of other things and it's really good!!!!! my mom makes it occasionally, altho' i think it was very popular in the 1950's
