My advice would be to pay what you can now and try to negotiate a payment plan for the rest. This may prevent a court judgment against you. Your credit should them reflect a debt to the landlord, but one in good standing.

It is probably better not to have an eviction on your credit report. Pay as much of the money as you can now and try to negotiate the rest. Are there any jobs that you could do around the apartment building to help pay down your debt - painting, scrubbing, detailing her car? Keep paying the money no matter what and you may totally avoid the court and a judgement. Even if you get a judgement then pay the debt off anyway - keeping your credit good is so important!
