What, do you think, are the ethical concerns?

I think that the stem cell research has the potential to heal brain injuries and spinal injuries, both of which are extremely expensive conditions to treat long term and often require the person with the injury to have carers and special equipment.

the brain cells can not on their own reproduce. Stem cells can replicate brain cells and multiply. the posibilities are amazingly endless.

Bring on the research.... it is ethically wrong to NOT take this research to its fullest ability.

I agree that all chord blood should be banked.

The use of embryonic and foetal tissue is a bit gross to me... it is entirely possible to use the stems cells from chord blood.

I think the Red Cross should bank all cord blood and use the stem cells in the cords to save lives. Right now the cords are thrown away unless people have enough money to pay a private company to harvest the cord blood and store it forpossiblefuture use.

I am all FOR IT. There are millions of people in this world from those with spinal cord injury to alzheimers and more who could benefit. I wouldn't agree with getting pregnant and aborting just to use the cells, but what about those women who have fertility problems and have multi embryos created but don't use all of them and then they're just thrown away? WHAT A WASTE. So it's better to throw them out instead of use them to help people? How STUPID.
