You need to talk to your OB/GYN doctor about SAFE ways to induce labor.

People online are not medical experts and each woman who is pregnant differs and not each method should be used just because someone else used it.

Based on your medical history your OB doctor is the ONLY person who can suggest what you can do...otherwise let nature run its course.

I was 37 weeks when I delivered my son! I can definitely say I know you are miserable and want that baby out NOW!

There are so many theories on how to start labor, I chose to do visualization techniques/ meditation. I swear by it, although I have only had one child, but at least I feel it helped start my labor!

Sit down in a quiet, comfortable place! Start visualizing your cervix opening and the baby coming down. Also try to think of how the contractions feel. Walking around a lot also helped me... they also say there is a prostoglandin in semen that helps break down the cervix, this is why sex should help start labor!

I went to a prepared child birth class at 35 weeks and the instructor says this technique works more than many people think!

It worked for me, I started having contractions that hurt a day after, they went away, and a week after I started my visualization I went into full blown labor, your uterus needs to prepare itself to push out the baby, so start now! I would reccomend this to anyone, and definitely plan on using it the next time I have a baby!

Goodluck, and I hope it works... because the castor oil thing doesn't sound pleasing whatsoever!!

Some babies take there time.I would not try anything because you might do more harm. That Castor oil is a old wives tale. You will not go into labor but it will make you go to the bathroom and you will feel worse.I know it's hard but your gonna have to wait.Baby will come when it's ready.I had one natural and one baby who came 2 weeks late. They finally induced labor and she still didn't want to come out.So there might be a reason why.You wouldn't pull a cake out of the oven early.Use this time to rest cause you won't after it's born. Good Luck!

Walking Stair Climbing I was pregnant and in agony too. I did everything that I could to initiate labor. I lived in a two story house so I had to climb the stairs everytime I had to pee. By the time I got to the top of the stairs I was starting to have irregular contractions. I walked around the block and stayed on my feet. It caused me to dilate to 3cm 3wks before my due date. I was in misery! I still had around two wks left before she was due. I helped move some small furniture the night before my due date, and it was around 4 am in the morning and my labor was slowly starting. It all boils down to the fact that baby will come when baby is ready. They are suggesting there is a chemical released in the babys brain that lets the child know it is time to start labor. I do know that if you can walk and walk and walk you will cause baby to drop lower and lower and you will eventually end up with a baby.

You can try to stimulate your nipples it releases something in your body that causes contractions which eventually lead to labor I can tell you that I tried nipple stimulation, I drank castor oil, I drank hot tea and then soaked in a hot bath I did all the stuff my family said would help me and nothing did I ended up being late and delivered at 41 and 1/2 weeks I think when the baby is ready he will come out...let it come naturally... I couldn't do the sex thing because my husband was in Iraq but I hear that works

It's better to wait and go full term. It's better for the baby.

But if you really really must start labour try these....

This may sound pervy but it isn't... massage the aureola... this stimulates some hormone which sets off contractions... about 15 mins on each one and see how it goes. I've also heard that raspberry tea can start off labour which is why it is to be avoided in early pregnancy as it can cause miscarriage. Or a hot curry! Or even sex with your partner/husband can set it off but if you're not comfy it may not be a good idea.

I know how you feel I am 36 weeks pregnant. For my last baby I was a day late and I ate spicy food the night before I went into labor. Try that. I had taco soup. Good Luck!

Stand up so that the baby's head presses on your cervex. This can start the labor sometimes. You might have labor induced if this goes on very much longer. My first child was a little late

Good Luck

You need to talk to your doctor. You should be seeing your OB on a weekly basis by now. There is no other advice that you should take, with your present condition. You'll only hurt yourself more, and you could also hurt the baby in return. If your OB has already stated that you should have a C-section, then it is for good reason. They don't schedule those just for fun, only medical necessity.

I do not want to get in trouble or be reported for saying this, but I was told by my OB/GYN to go home and have sex with my hubby and that the pitocin that his body produces would put me into labor, and help me to dialate. I went into labor about 4 hrs afterwards, and delivered in another two. Have fun!!! Good luck!!!!
