He doesn't. God is a loving God, but he is also a gentleman. if we don't welcome him into our lives he very politely stays out. when things go bad we blame Him. But how can he help us when he's not present?

"He doesn't hate you....he just likes other people better."
It's an old joke, but... Anyway, recently I've asked the same question. I am terminally ill and my life is spent surfing the internet and waiting. All my dreams, no matter how hard I've prayed and worked, have never come true and now my time is coming to an end. *insert violins here* I feel my life has been a total failure. I never married or had children. I never finished school or traveled. I devoted my every waking minute to trying to give others around me a better life...and the kicker is...it went unnoticed. So yes, I ask..."why does my God hate me?".... and the answer is he doesn't. Perhaps this is the best life that he could have given me.... perhaps I'm more lucky than I know. Even though I'm in pain as I type this..maybe just maybe this is a blessing from what it could have been for me. You have to trust... and remember that God loves you, no matter how horrible things may seem. Just remember the people on 9-11-01 who got sooooooo po'd that their cars wouldn't start or that they were running late for work... At that moment maybe they were saying...."Why does God hate me?"....well....after they found themselves saying ..."Thank God I was late, because I would have been on the 93rd floor right at the moment of impact."
Don't give up.... I know it hurts... believe me I know. Sometimes I beg for death to come quickly and get angry at God, but it's only because I feel useless and like I don't matter and that I've never made a difference to anyone on this earth... but I pray again and find strength...and carry on.... Maybe I find a little joy in my day.... a chat with a nice person... great music... a movie....something...anything.... makes me appreciate the blessing of life.... lol, maybe I even find a little happiness in something as silly as Yahoo Answers... and I still, no matter how much I've been burned, I always always find joy in trying to help others and in giving.
Anyway, again, please don't give up... remember there is at least one person on this earth who understands why you asked this question. Peace. :)

If you are a product of your God, there is no reason for him to hate you. However, as your god and your father, he may well be displeased with you rather than hate you. If this is so, you may have displeased him in some way. I suggest that you take a long hard, but sympathetic, look at yourself and see how you can improve what you have to offer life ..... I really think your problem is low esteem and possibly a tad of depression ...... nothing wrong in that .... we've all been there. Just help yourself to help yourself and stop blaming God .... he will give you the strength to see you through it but you must take that first step!

Turns out your god is a god of hate, that's the problem right there... if you're tired of that, consider switching to a different model- and there are many to choose from! How about the sandwich god? He won't love you, but you can bet your life you'll not go hungry if you worship him properly ;-) Of course, if you don't worship properly (ie, get all the bread and fillings in the fridge ready) then the sandwich god may start to hate you too... religion is tough that way.

I don't like answering a question with another one but isn't a better question, "why do you hate you?".
Ever seen the film Shadowlands where the writer (Anthony Hopkins as C. S. Lewis) loses his wife... he is asked the point of him praying and what good will come of it and he says, "It doesn't change god, it changes me."
Bad things will happen, no matter how good you are. The same is true for good things but you may not pay half as much attention to them. Think positive. Makes no difference whatsover to your God but it's a lot more fun.

God doesn't hate you. I used to think the same thing. Usually when I had bad things happen to me. I realized that while God is always watching, God is not always acting. The saying the Lord helps those who help themselves is true. God lets us do for our selves, and doesn't interfere with our lives unless we need him/her. God doesn't make things good or bad for you. You do.

I don't think God hates you I think that maybe you hate yourself. If you have issues with your life you are the only one that can change them.Don't be afraid to ask for help or to admit when things have gone wrong or you feel you can't cope.

There is no god. Are you beset by a constant stream of bad breaks and bad luck? It's your attitude. First of all, don't be so discouraged when something bad happens. Learn to shake it off. Have a positive outlook on things.
