I don't think that is has become a sin city at all. I think that NY has the most diverse population in the world, a mix of people from all sorts of different backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles and morals. Just because not everyone shares your morals here, doesn't make it the sin capital of the planet. Maybe in your mind it does, but I think that New Yorkers are the most tolerant people and most open-minded to the live and let live mentality. We welcome all people here. I think the motto of the Statue of Liberty is very in keeping with what Jesus would have believed, "Give us your tired, your poor..."
Anyway, while many may be indulgent, many are also true givers, and when dealing with millions of people every day, to remain kind and considerate of everyone is pretty incredible.

In addition to being polite...and safe (as has been previously pointed out...)
New York also has one of the highest per-capita rates of contribution to charities.
We tend to be much more tolerant of people from different backgrounds, races, etc. Folks who feel like "misfits" in their own towns often find a place in NYC.
Maybe there is more "godless heathen trash" here....but there is also alot more tolerance too.

New York is one of the safest large cities in the US. It is also one of the most tolerant--where people from all different ways of life come together & like, work & play in harmony. If that is sin city--then I'd hate to know what you think about Las Vegas!

didnt New Yorkers show their real colors during 9/11..everyone helped each other....iron workers walked down the street to help pull bankers and business people out...more different nationalities live in harmony in NYC than anywhere else..many people donate their time to charities every weekend..rethink it, just like the war the media only represnts a small portion of truth, and doesnt elaborate on all teh great things that happen every day

Ha ha! You must be pretty young. New York in the 1970s was a hundred times worse than it is now. It's almost as clean as Disneyworld these days.

That relies upon the form you degree attractiveness. comparing Hollywood to Broadway: each and every of the Broadway shows jointly make a finished of roughly $a million billion in line with three hundred and sixty 5 days (these days), and play to approximately 12 million visitors. A single Hollywood action picture, alongside with "Iron guy 3" makes greater effective than that and is seen via much greater visitors - and there are 1000's of Hollywood movies released each and every three hundred and sixty 5 days. So in terms of the form of human beings dashing to work out their product, Hollywood beats Broadway, hands down. in terms of trip makers vacationing the cities, 40-one.4 million travelers visited l. a. in 2012 (no longer counting nearby San Diego), on a similar time as manhattan had fifty two million travelers. (besides the undeniable fact that, those numbers are extremely skewed via the indisputable fact that the state of manhattan is surrounded via densely-populated states, on a similar time as California is bordered via deserts and gently-populated states alongside with Nevada & Arizona.) yet Orlando, Florida actual beats the two considered one of them, in terms of the form of trip makers, with fifty six million. (Disney international and its neighboring topic parks are a great draw.) in case you mean in terms of what human beings actual like, that is virtually impossible to determine. It relies upon on who you ask, once you ask, and what questions you ask. case in point, people who've actual visited a city could have a distinctive view of it than people who have not visited, and in basic terms be conscious of it via attractiveness. And in case you ask human beings the place they could desire to stay, you will get a distinctive answer than in case you ask human beings the place they could desire to bypass to.
