And "Aaaahhh!"

The story of Noah is such allegory, and yet so many people take it literally it scares me. To feed 2 elephants for the duration of the voyage the entire rest of the boat could have been crammed full of food and it still would not have been enough, to say nothing of the other animals on board. When I tell Christian Fundies this they just go to the old stand by "God could give them the food they needed." Well if God could just miracle up enough food for the animals, could He not also have just recreated the animals He wanted to save AFTER the frikkin' flood? Why go through all the trouble of an ark? It makes no sense but that doesn't stop people from believing that it is the word for word truth.
