What kind of shallow, pro-religion argument are trying to make here? By definition, atheists do not pray.

To an atheist prayer is a waste of time. Atheists don't pray for or about anything.

Secondly, we are pretty darn sure the bible isn't true, we aren't worried about that one bit.

First of all, why would an atheist pray?

Second, how many times have you, in your deep concern about the possibility that a religious scripture different from your own might be true, prayed that the Book of Mormon not be true, or that the Quran not be true, or that the Bhagavad Gita not be true? I'll bet you've NEVER done that, or even thought about it - and that is the answer to your question.

Prayer for the Atheist is as useful as the comb is to the bald.

Besides, if I prayed that is wasn't true, would it change things? Would it matter? Then why do you think it matters when you pray?

I think what he is suggesting is that atheists would be praying that there is no Heaven or Hell and they will not be judged when they die. You may have seen similar silly comments about Darwin now knowing that Evolution wasn't true. Because presumably he would be in Hell being punished for his non-belief. It is curious to me though that anyone would argue that a doctrine should be followed on the basis of power and fear.

Yes. I pray to Joe Pesci that the Bible is NOT true about gluttony, because I LOVE Necco wafers.

Do ghost believe in people? Can a man with no fingers point me in the right direction? Can a woman with leprasy pull herself together? Can a man with one leg put his best foot forward? Can a woman with no arms give me a hand? Do blind people see when they dream? Does a transvestite have the balls to pull it off? Basically, who knows?
