I am sure that by "gay" you must mean "happy". Right? Of course he's happy! He's always galavanting around in the meadow naked with his friends. Who wouldn't be happy, er, uh...gay?

The Rapture Right thinks it is obvious. Tinky-Winky is purple, he carries a purse and atop his head is a triangle. The February (1999) edition of The National Liberty Journal, edited and published by the Reverend Jerry Falwell, contained an article warning parents the Teletubby "Tinky Winky" may be a gay role model. The publication says Tinky Winky has the voice of a boy but carries a purse. I have no idea who "Tinky-Winky" is, but from the sound of the name, I would ask, "How could Tinky-Winky NOT be gay?"!!

I watched Teletubbies every day when my kid was around two. Made him when he was three b/c I liked it in the background while I was running around. I was so offended when I heard that a bunch of morons were claiming a child-like genderless alien had anything to do with sex. And that the subject was being brought up for my three year old to 'think' about. Now, I hear there's a rumor that the church-goers are trying to say they teach disobedience! Luckily, now I don't have to worry about my child being exposed to that.

it scares me that religious leaders would actually look that dep into a show aimed at children under 3. i had no concept of homosexuality at 2. something deeply disturbing that there are people who look at brightly colored costumed, non-human creatures and somehow think of sex.
