Personally I dont really know, but I haven't dated a girl for about 4 years...3+ months now, anyway my friend said that if I end up 40, not married without any children, people would respect me less.

Lie or not?

Well is not about respect, but I think at the age of 40 is kind of hard to find someone, I mean if you never got marry before or have any kids, some women tent to believe that something is wrong with them.

If Im about 36 years and I'm single and I have 2 choices one guy of 35 and down or 36 and up, I would prefer 35 and down...

But well is only my opinion and I know there's a lot of girls at that age looking for a the man of their dreams.

Yes he lied. You should not settle down until your'e ready, and alot of people nowaday are opting not to have children at all. Take it from someone who has been divorced, (you really don't want to have to do that) make sure youv'e made the right choice and take your time to really get to know the person first. Honestly, I think some people respect me less because my marriage failed.

People will respect you more if you are confident, knowledgeful and ambitious. It doesn't matter if you are alone, as a long as you are bringing good things to yourself and society, without doing harm, then people will respect you. Close friends and family should be enough to keep you going, and who knows who might come along the way eventually.

Good luck.

Your friend is a fool. That is the most ridiculous thing for him to say. 40? Come on. Are you happy? Don't rush into anything because of your age. And certainly do not expect any less respect!! Take your time...if it happens? Wonderful..if not? It's not meant to...

Personally your friend is a close-minded person. Sadly, there are many close-minded people out there. However, consider this: Your friend is one person out of all the people in the entire world. His views do not reflect that of everyone else. This is just a matter of opinion and nothing more.

Of course he's lieing! People aren't going to disrespect you because you haven't married anyone...he may have just been trying to urge you to go ahead and get out there and start dating but it came out wrong...

Would this really be a reason to disrepect a person. You earn respect it is not a given. A family does not equal respect.

Oh please! This is pure bool-sheet!!!!

People could care less if you are 40 y/o and not married. They will however try and hook you up...and if the girl is cool, then go for it!!

People need to mind their own dang business.

Good luck and keep being who you are!!! Sounds like you are the smart one for not settling for less than the best.

First of all, how old are you now? People don't respect you any more if you're married or if you're not that's stupid. Don't go get married because some else thinks you should. Do it when you're ready....hello
